Bahar and Scott

Dear Birth Mother

Hello! We are Bahar and Scott from Southern California. We would like to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your baby.

We are overjoyed to share our lives with a little one. We’ve always wanted to become parents and began our journey into parenthood shortly after we got married in 2015. After several failed pregnancies and IVF treatments, we have decided to pursue adoption. We’ve been lucky to be surrounded by nieces and nephews and friends with children. We can’t imagine anything but absolute joy to become parents and sharing our lives with a child. Parenthood to us means nurturing, teaching, caring, providing, and most of all loving a child. We can’t wait to get started, so thank you for considering us as adoptive parents to your child.

About Us: We met in 2013 at Zuma Beach in Malibu, CA at a triathlon training site where Scott was the co-captain, and Bahar was training for her first triathlon event. A few months later, we had our first date at a hockey game at Staples Center in Los Angeles. We committed to one another a year later, and Scott proposed at a surprise engagement party in front of our dearest friends and family. We got married the following year on August 15th, 2015, on the hottest day of the year while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was one of the best days of our lives.

We both have fulfilling careers. Scott is a manager in the Aerospace field at a local company that designs and builds remote control airplanes and helicopters. Bahar is an executive at a local medical device company and is passionate about the betterment of women’s health.

About Bahar

About Bahar by Bahar: I’ve been lucky to have lived most of my life in California. As a child, my family and I immigrated from Iran to Los Angeles where my father had a business. I attended Loyola Marymount University where I got a degree in Biochemistry. I continued my education in Chemistry at UC Davis. Years later, I got a MBA from University of Michigan. Professionally, I develop and produce medical devices in Women’s health, such as surgical equipment used to remove excess tissue in the uterus. My professional success affords me lots of flexibility to be close to home where I can take care of my future adoptive child so they can flourish and grow with parents by their sides.

In my spare time, I play tennis several times a week, and I would love to introduce my kid(s) to the sport. I also enjoy the serenity of the mountains. Scott’s family has a cabin in a ski town in California where I’ve taught my friend’s kids how to snowboard, and I would love to do the same for my kid(s). I also love cooking and I can envision an afternoon with my child baking cookies and enjoying a home cooked meal on the patio on warm summer nights.

  • I can have ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
  • My favorite movie is Wonder Woman

About Scott

Our Home and Community

We live in a two-story house in Westlake Village, CA. Two of our bedrooms are dedicated to children – one is a bedroom while the other is setup as a playroom for infants. Our house is located in the middle of a green belt for nature walks as well as minutes away from a large park with access to a playground, two baseball fields, and several tennis courts. Living in our neighborhood affords us access to lots of other activities, including playing on the beach, which we want to share with our children.

Westlake is an active community with plenty of hiking trails, parks, golf courses, tennis courts, and bike paths. We play tennis with a league in our area. We also have a family cabin in Mammoth Lakes, California – a ski town about 5 hours from Los Angeles. We enjoy cross country skiing with our dogs. Scott is an avid skier and snowboarder while Bahar sticks to snowboarding. We are also close to Los Angeles and of course Disneyland is not too far away!

Meet Our Amazing Pups, Oliver & Ruby: Oliver is a ten-year old Bishon mix. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that Oliver loves babies. He follows them around and wants to comfort them when they cry. It is the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen.

Ruby is the sweetest Border Collie mix. She loves people and dogs. Both of them love running around the dog beach, the agility course for fun, and sleeping on our laps. They are a fantastic part of our family and we love them a great deal.

Our Friends and Family

They say it takes a village to raise children and we are lucky to have a large village of family and friends. Our village starts with our moms who are looking forward to being grandmas to our children and help us take care of them during the week.

Scott’s side of the family has brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, as well as many cousins and aunts and is located all over California, Colorado and England. Bahar’s side of the family is abundant with uncles, aunts, cousins, sister/brother-in-law who live locally and abroad. Our future child will be fully accepted into our loving family with many diverse backgrounds, cultures and traditions to share.

We typically gather for Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter, 4th of July, Anniversaries, Nowruz (Persian New Year), Winter and Summer Solstice and various Scottish festivals. We have also been fortunate to be invited to other cultural events, such as Hannukah, with friends and extended family. We have enjoyed learning about these new cultures and look forward to extending our cultural knowledge where we can.

Another great tradition we have is to travel to somewhere new every year with part of our family. Bahar’s family started this tradition fifteen years ago when Bahar and her sister, Sepideh, decided to go to England and Belgium to visit family. Since then, we have visited numerous locations, from France to Brazil and Patagonia. We’ve watched professional tennis at Wimbledon, cheered cyclists in the Tour de France and have watched fireworks and music on Bastille Day at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We can’t wait to share future experiences with our adoptive child.

In Closing – Thank You: We appreciate that you have read our profile to learn more about us. We want to adopt children because we have always wanted to share our joy and love with children that we can raise to adulthood. We have enjoyed our nephews, nieces and friend’s kids and have tried to have a child on our own but it has not worked out, so we are grateful to start our family through the gift of adoption. We have an amazing network of family and friends and our own dedication to being good role models will help your child become a well-rounded individual. If you choose us, your child will experience so many great things in their life. They will be educated, artistic, healthy, athletic and well rounded. We can’t wait to get started.

Thank you!

With love,

Bahar & Scott
