Bobby & Jennifer

Dear Birthmother

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us. We are Robert and Jennifer and we want to thank you for choosing adoption for your child. We understand how hard of a decision it must have been, but we hope to make it a little easier, knowing that your child will be loved and cared for endlessly.

We are both very fortunate to have large loving families, who are so excited for us to start this journey. Your child will join a family full of love, traditions, and fun. Thank you for considering us to be your child’s adoptive parents, and helping us add to our family.

Have fun getting to know us; we hope we give you a glimpse into our life and family.

Dear Birthmother

Meet Jennifer

Meet Jennifer through Roberts’s eyes:

Jennifer is my best friend. She has every character in a person I could ask for. She is honest, caring, an incredible mother, and can make me laugh even at the oddest of times. She is dedicated to her family, never missing a family event, birthday, holiday, or BBQ.

Jennifer grew up with two parents who absolutely adored her and her younger brother. This trait was obviously passed on to her, when you see how she adores our son. She spends her days playing whatever games he wants her to play, often sitting on the floor for hours on end. When they aren’t sitting on the floor, they are in the backyard gardening, or reading the endless supply of books Cole has accumulated.

I consider Jennifer as the “ring leader” of the family. She is always working on some plan to get everyone together. These BBQ’s or get togethers are some of her favorite times. She loves working in her garden, scheming up a new recipe with home grown veggies.

When I first met Jennifer she was teaching 3rd grade. She was a great teacher, even winning the “New teacher of the year award.” It was amazing to see how great she got along with all her students, regardless of which grade level she was teaching. Because she has that natural love for children, I knew she would be a great mother.

When Cole was born Jennifer seized the opportunity to not miss a single “first” in his life. She decided that as much as she loved teaching, that her true calling was to be a stay at home mother. She was right. It amazes me every day to see how she helps our son grow up with love, humor, compassion and respect.

Jennifer has a very large traditional Italian family. She has one brother who is married with a son of his own. They live minutes from us, and we spend much time together. Her parents also live close by and are very involved in our lives. She has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, which make holidays, birthdays and any other occasion, so much fun for the kids.

I hope this helps you get a glimpse of the amazing person I get to see every day.

Meet Robert through Jennifer’s eyes

I feel like the luckiest woman on earth. The stars aligned for me when I ran into him on my birthday. My life became fuller, more amazing that night. There are so many things I want to share with you about him so you can get a glimpse of the wonderful man I know. First off, most people know him as Robert but I call him Bobby. It has been so fun getting to know him, what he likes and doesn’t like and many days he surprises me with something new I didn’t know about him. I have seen him grow from a young man into the wonderful husband and father he is today.

When I met bobby he had already obtained his dream job as a police officer. He amazed me! And quickly became my hero, especially after hearing about all of the people he would help on a daily basis. I don’t think I have ever met anyone with such a huge heart and desire to help those in need. I fell in love with everything about him. His willingness to put others needs in front of his own, his generosity, his kindness, his sense of humor, and the list can go on forever. He truly is my best friend and partner for life. I thought I couldn’t love my husband any more, and then he became a father. I have never seen anyone transform so completely. He is the most loving, doting, and attentive hands on father to our son Cole. I could not have asked for a better father for our son. Bobby lives for one thing and that is his family. We come first above all else. He is a true family man.

In his spare time, bobby likes to “tinker” or “putter” around the house. He is very handy and can do anything around the house or yard. So handy in fact, that he built his first house he owned, with his own two hands! He owns every tool possible and is always looking for new projects to start.

He is also very active. He loves to go for hikes on the trails close to our home, take Cole for a walk to the park, and swing the occasional golf club. Most of his energy is spent running around the backyard playing super heroes or pitching a baseball to Cole.

Bobby has a big family; he has his parents, two sisters, Kristina and Karyn, several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and three nieces that he just adores. He would, and does, do anything for his family. He doesn’t miss a chance to spend time with them. He doesn’t miss a holiday or forget a birthday.

Words don’t do bobby justice. I just hope I have given you an idea of what kind of man he is; a devoted husband and most of all, a loving father.

Meet Cole

Meet our son Cole

In August of 2011 our baby son was born. From the very beginning you could tell what kind of boy Cole would be. He has endless amounts of energy, is happy go lucky, and knows what he wants. Cole loves to play superheroes! We have every superhero they make. He plays with them constantly, always beating out the ‘bad guys.’ He also loves to play in the backyard where he plays in his sand box, climbs on his jungle gym, blows endless bubbles, and throws the ball for our little dog Jack. Cole also has quite the green thumb. He loves to help Mommy and Daddy in the garden. He puts on his little garden gloves and helps pick veggies and pull weeds. He believes the best food for the plants is a little love and he goes around kissing all of the growing fruits and veggies. They do come out sweeter! Family movie nights are some of his favorite times. We pick out a movie, pop some popcorn, light a fire in the fireplace and cuddle on the couch for the movie.

Cole attends a Christian preschool three days a week in the morning. He has had so much fun meeting new friends and learning new things. Cole is also wonderful with babies. Our nephew is six months old and Cole is so gentle and protective of him. He will be a wonderful big brother and he can’t wait to have a little baby in house!

About Our Family

How we became a family

We met about ten years ago while Robert was working at our city’s local festival. We talked and got to know each other a bit, but that was it. We went on with our separate lives. Then a year later, Jennifer was out celebrating her birthday when we met again. And the rest is history. That was nine years ago and there hasn’t been a day since that we haven’t talked or seen each other. Two years later, we were standing in front of our family and friends devoting our lives to each other and expressing the love we have for the other. Our wedding was a beautiful day of celebration with everyone we love. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. We spent the next few years enjoying our new lives as a married couple. We both continued to pursue our careers and traveled as much as possible. Then something amazing happened, we were expecting a baby! If we thought we were happy before nothing compares to the happiness we felt knowing that we were growing as a family. Three and a half years ago, a miracle happened, our son Cole was born. He was born very sick and we spent the next ten days in the neonatal intensive care unit watching our son fight to survive. Not only did he survive, but he thrived! Cole is now three and a half and the happiest, healthiest, energetic toddler you could imagine. That brings us to where we are now. Seven years of marriage and a baby! Our lives revolve around each other and our family and we want nothing more than to have our family grow.

Our Home:

We live in the beautiful hills of Napa Valley. Our home is a four bedroom 3 bathroom home in a quiet residential area. It has plenty of space for our family to grow. From every bedroom you get a view of the surrounding hills and mountains. There are numerous walking trails within minutes that go into the mountains where deer often sneak out to say hello. We have even had deer walking down our street late at night! It is quiet, peaceful, and very safe. Our neighborhood has many young families with children that love to play outside and visit the local parks.

What we do for fun:

We love doing fun things with Cole and making memories as a family. Because of the close proximity to San Francisco, we often go to the San Francisco Zoo, aquarium, and Giants baseball games. It’s been so much fun doing these things and seeing Cole experience them for the first time. It’s like we are experiencing it for the first time all over again. We also love the beach, we are beach people. We take a family vacation to the coast every year and make several day trips to the beach just to feel the sand in our toes and to hear the waves.

Our home is one of our favorite places to be. We love doing projects around the house, or spending time in our huge backyard. It is like our little getaway. We love spending our evenings outside barbequing and watching Cole play on his jungle gym, or throw the ball for our little dog, Jack. We also have found a passion in gardening and cooking what we have grown. We have a large vegetable garden where we grow tomatoes, zucchinis, artichokes, potatoes, basil, garlic, and chives. It’s been fun going out to our garden and picking veggies for dinner that night. Cole also loves to tend to the garden, and when we say tend, we really mean that he loves to go and eat the tomatoes straight off the vine! The cherry tomatoes usually don’t make it into the house.

Our home is also located by many hiking trails and parks. We love to be outside and take advantage of our surroundings. Many mornings, we pack a picnic and pick a new trail to explore. Cole loves riding on daddy’s back, pointing out all of the birds, squirrels and other animals he sees.

All of this is a lot of fun, but what we think interests us the most is getting together with family and friends. We love entertaining at our house and just enjoy the company of those close to us.

Our Promise to You:

We promise to provide your child with a home full of love, a home full of laughter and fun. But most of all, a home where family comes first, above all else!

Again, we would like to commend you for making this hard decision and thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves.

We wish you all of the best in this adoption journey.
