Geno & Melissa
Hello and Thank You!
How We Met: We met on eHarmony. Our first date was a dinner date. We had a great time and talked for hours. We had so much in common. For whatever reason we just clicked. We both felt like we knew each other for years. We laughed and shared stories. We both were very excited about seeing each other again. We love looking back on how we met and how lucky we are that we found each other. We go back to the same restaurant every year on our anniversary.
Our Story: We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us. While we can’t know exactly what you’re going through, we truly admire your love, courage and selflessness. You give us hope that our dream of becoming parents will come true.
We have a strong relationship built on love, respect, and a lot of laughter. We are also fortunate to have the love and support of our family and friends. We know it is time for us to become parents. We have so much love to give. It is our hope that the following pages will give you a sense of who we are as a family, and the kind of life, love and opportunities we will provide for your child.
A Special Note About Adoption: We were both adopted, so we knew adoption was the perfect path for us to have the family we’ve always wanted.
About Melissa, Through Geno’s Eyes: The night I met Melissa, the first thing I noticed was the kindness in her eyes. Melissa is a very caring person and always worries about others before herself. Melissa has shown me that when you find the perfect person for you, it just works.
I don’t have to change a thing about myself because she loves me for me. I know I will always be loved and supported. She is very silly and loves to laugh and have fun. She can make me laugh without even realizing what she’s doing.
When we first got together we both felt that we never wanted to be apart. Melissa is selfless and always puts family first. She has been an amazing mother to my teenage, now adult daughters. They come to her for love, support, advice, or just to hang out.
I watch her with my daughters and I know she will be a great mom. She is an amazing cook. She will always jump up and help anyone. She is very adventurous and loves to try new things. I wake up every day very thankful we have each other. She is the most amazing person I have ever met. I love her so much.
Melissa’s Thoughts: I grew up in a tight-knit, loving and supportive family. I have two brothers. We are blessed to have two loving parents. They have always been incredible role models. Their relationship, based on love and friendship is an inspiration to us all. MY OLDEST BROTHER AND I WERE ADOPTED AS INFANTS. Adoption is something that is very close to all of our hearts.
I learned to cook at a very young age. My mom and Grandma are amazing cooks and I spent most of my time in the kitchen with them. My passion for cooking led me to culinary school. After school,
I became a cook at a restaurant in New Orleans. I lived in New Orleans for three years. It was an amazing experience. When I came back to California I started my own catering company. I also taught cooking classes for children. After 10 years of cooking, my family went into real estate.
I realized I needed a change, so I decided to get my real estate license and join them. After working in real estate for a couple years I found my niche in property management. I am now a leasing consultant at an apartment building a few minutes from our home. I will be taking time off to spend time with our baby. Cooking is still my passion and I am looking forward to spending time in my kitchen with my own child someday.
Meet Geno, Through Melissa’s Eyes: Meeting Geno is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I felt comfortable around him the minute I met him. He is the most caring, loving, hard working man I have ever met. One of the things that impressed me most was what an amazing father he is.
His daughters love him with all their hearts as he does them. He is so supportive in everything they want to do. His daughters welcomed me into their family with open arms and although they were already teenagers when I first met them, we became a family instantly.
He is also surrounded by a large group of wonderful friends that are more like family to both of us. He is in a golf club. He loves to travel and enjoys being outdoors, especially golfing or at the beach. I have never met anybody that doesn’t love him.
Geno is funny and sometimes downright silly. He also makes me feel safe and more loved than I ever dreamt possible. He takes very good care of his family and has a huge heart. Geno is always willing to try something new. He will give a helping hand to anybody. I am so excited for him to become a father again. I can’t express how blessed I feel to be able to raise a child with him. I love him so much and I am very thankful he is my husband.
Geno’s Thoughts: I grew up with two loving parents. I am the only child and I was adopted as an infant. I grew up in Simi Valley California. I have two beautiful and independent daughters who are 24 and 22. They are both very excited about us adopting and can’t wait to meet their new brother or sister. I enjoy spending time with them. We are very close and watching them grow into young women has been a miracle.
I have worked for the same company for 27 years as a quality control manager. I still love my job after all these years. I live 40 minutes away from work. I am able to take time off when needed and plan on taking time off when our baby comes.
I have been in a golf club for 12 years and have met my closest friends through this club. We are one big family. We take trips together and have fun. I enjoy spending days with Melissa and my daughters. We enjoy being silly and laughing together.
Our Family & Friends
Love Makes A Family: We are a very loving and fun family. We feel lucky to live close to one another in beautiful Thousand Oaks, California, which is just outside of Los Angeles.

Melissa’s parents, Joyce and Gil and Melissa’s brother Rusty, his wife Jamie, and our nephew Jensen all live 10 minutes away. Melissa’s oldest brother Ian lives in Long Beach with his girlfriend Stephanie. We love to get together.
Our nephew is 1 year old and we love spending time with him. Melissa and Jamie are best friends. We have a lot of love to give and are all very excited to welcome a child into our family. Melissa, Kirstie, Kayla and Joyce enjoy cooking together.
Kirstie recently discovered that she loves baking and decorating. She enjoys teaching us all how to decorate cookies. Kayla is steadily becoming quite the great cook! Our traditions are very special to us. We hope to include a child of our own in our traditions soon and can’t wait to make new traditions and even more special memories!
