Hannah and Trevor
We are Hannah & Trevor from sunny Los Angeles, California! Thank you for choosing the gift of adoption and taking the time to get to know us. We have always dreamed of being parents and raising our family in a fun, supportive, and loving home.
Adoption has always been something we have talked about throughout our journey together. After a long road with infertility, we are thrilled to be taking this next step toward building our family. We are excited to hopefully take this next step with you. We are so honored to be considered as a family for your child. We sincerely thank you and can’t wait to meet you.
Our Story: We met as counselors at summer camp in Pennsylvania in 2004. Trevor was a paintball instructor while Hannah taught arts and crafts. We shared the same day off, started dating and quickly realized we had something special. Despite being from different countries, we made it work and have been together ever since!
The early years of our relationship were spent doing (very) long distance between Canada and England. That was until we travelled to South Korea to teach English to children for a year and explore Asia.
In 2008, we were married in a tiny ceremony in the snowy Canadian Rockies. Two years later, we threw a big wedding celebration and barn dance with family and friends at Hannah’s childhood home.
Since marrying, we have moved between England, Canada, and the US. We have called Los Angeles home since 2016 and are excited to put down roots and grow our family here.
Things We Look Forward to Doing with Our Children:
- Trips to Canada & England to visit our family.
- Playing on Hannah’s dad’s donkey farm.
- Camping trips in Yosemite to appreciate nature.
- Beach days playing in the sand and eating yummy snacks.
- Visiting Disneyland and going on all the rides.
- Celebrating milestones with big themed parties (Trevor loves theming)
- Spending holidays with family and friends, creating new traditions.
About Trevor by Hannah: I first noticed Trevor because he was wearing a red bandana, had a British accent and was excitedly getting kids to sign up for camp activities. My first impression of him was that he was cheeky, organized and the kids loved him. Once I got to know him, I got to see how smart, kindhearted, and passionate he is about all aspects of life.
Trevor has a keen sense of adventure that led him around the world twice before he turned 30. He loves to make plans and is a world class researcher. He also loves sports of all kinds and is a proud season ticket holder for the LA Rams.
He brings passion and well researched fun to everything he does, and I cannot wait to see him in action as a father!
Trevor has an incredible work ethic. He has worked in the television and film industry for many years. He currently helps build apps for Disney and Hulu. He loves his job because it’s flexible, allowing him to work from home and has great perks including free access to Disneyland! Trevor’s job has also provided us with some amazing travel and life opportunities (moved us to LA, international travel, to name a couple).
- Cooking and trying new recipes, lasagna is my favorite
- Watching sports – soccer, basketball, baseball, and football to name a few
- Heading to the mountains to snowboard and enjoy winter
- Going to the theatre to watch movies with a giant popcorn and Coke
- Camping and exploring California
- Road trips with Hannah and Bodhi listening to podcasts
About Hannah by Trevor: Hannah caught my eye right away at the summer camp we worked at. Her beautiful smile and sense of humor won me over. She was an awesome camp counselor, going above and beyond to make sure the kids had a great summer. She even won an award for being the top counselor.
Hannah is one of the sweetest people I know. She cares so much about her family and friends. She has such a special relationship with her niece and nephew. They video chat often and the kids love to show their Aunty Hannah their latest discoveries.
Hannah is such a funny, thoughtful and caring person. My love for her has grown throughout the years as I’ve gotten to know her more. I have no doubt she will be an amazing mom.
Before moving to LA, Hannah worked in Human Resources. She has spent the last few years studying and enjoying her time off. She is excited to one day be a stay-at-home mom.
- Discovering new hiking trails and being outside in nature
- Drinking my hot morning coffee outside in the sun
- Spending time with family, either in-person, on Zoom, or FaceTime
- BBQ’s and lawn game tournaments on July 4th
- Snuggling on the couch watching The Office
We live in a house on a quiet, tree lined street, in the cutest little neighborhood in Los Angeles. We are close to the beach and are within a short walking distance to parks, movie studios, great restaurants, shopping, and some of the best schools in the city. There is a real family vibe here and it’s common to see kids riding their bikes and playing in the streets.
Our house has a backyard with 5 different types of fruit trees which keep the squirrels and our dog very busy! We love entertaining outside with cookouts and late-night chats with our friends. We also just enjoy sitting under the trees and taking in the quiet nights.
Meet Bodhi: Bodhi is a 5-year-old Cockapoo and is a very good boy. He has a big goofy personality and always keeps us active and on our toes. He is great with babies, is a master at fetch, loves his rubber chickens, car rides and snuggles. Bodhi can’t wait for a new playmate!
Our Family and Friends
Our families are in Canada and England, and they play a big role in our lives. Someone is always planning a visit to LA, and we try to get back to see family as often as possible. When our child arrives, we fully expect the flow of visitors and support to be endless!
When family comes to visit, we enjoy taking them to the beach, Rams games, hikes, and road trips around Southern California. When it’s our turn to visit family in our home countries there are always big roast dinners and games nights in England, and outdoor adventures, pool parties and musical jam sessions in Canada. The best part about our family visits is getting to spend extended quality time together.
We have a close group of friends who we are fortunate to consider our LA family. We love getting together for big brunches, watching sports (Go Rams! Come on England!) and vacationing in Palm Springs.
- To surround our future child with love, support, and laughter.
- To respect their culture and teach them their birth story.
- To travel and expose them to different cultures and ways of life.
- To give them opportunities to discover their interests and passions.
In Closing: Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us, it means a lot. In the last 17 years we have had many adventures together. We are excited for our next adventure of growing our family and we would be so grateful if you gave us that opportunity. We hope we can one day meet you and get to know you.
