Hello! We’re Tristan and Hunter from San Jose, California. We are honored you have taken the time to learn more about us as a couple. We admire your strength and bravery while you navigate a range of emotions that you are experiencing right now while trying to decide the best option for your little one. We have been dreaming about raising a child of our own in our home that will be filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us!
Dear Birth Mother...
About Us
We have been together for 8 years and married for the last three. Our relationship has always been about never giving up. One of the best examples of this was when Hunter was trying to propose to Tristan in Maui. Hunter tried to propose at multiple locations, but in between the weather, crowded beaches, or getting lost on the roads nothing seemed to work out. Eventually once back at our hotel, Hunter got down on one knee and changed our lives forever.
Our life together has been filled with new experiences, exciting trips, cooking experiments, and lots of shared jokes. We are excited and ready to bring a child into our life to create more moments together as a family.
Our Hobbies
Hunter has a small patch of dirt in our backyard where he likes to grow vegetables. He has been successful at growing pumpkins that we use for pumpkin carving parties with family.
One of the things we really like about the Bay Area is the proximity to the ocean. Within 30 minutes drive you can be on the coast, feeling the cool breeze, listening to the waves crash, and hiking the coastal trails. We can’t wait to be exploring tide pools together as a family.

Meet Hunter, by Tristan
Hunter is not only my husband, but also my best friend. He is smart, witty, goofy, caring, resourceful, and resilient. One of my favorite early memories with Hunter was our movie Sundays when each would need to pick a snack and a movie that meant something to us. We got to learn a lot about each other during that time and it opened up great dialogue between us.
More About Hunter, by Tristan
One of the things that attracted me to Hunter was when I saw him interact with our oldest nephew for the first time. He instantly went into “Dad Mode” and started playing trucks with him, but also teaching him along the way about the different gears on the truck. I knew from that moment that he would make a fantastic Dad and someone I would want our child to learn from.
About Hunter, by Hunter
Growing up in El Dorado Hills, a small town in the foothills of Sacramento, I enjoyed being outdoors and fishing for bluegill in the stream near our house. My parents owned a construction company, so I had lots of practice building things, fixing things, and driving tractors. After I earned my degree at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, I moved to San Jose to stay close to the coast and for a career in technology. I am currently a Director at a software start-up with team members worldwide. When I’m trying to decompress, I enjoy hiking in the hills around the Bay Area, finding new and exciting places to eat, and working on the home we plan to grow our family in. I’ve been dabbling with my backyard vegetable garden, but I look forward to building a play area with a sandbox.
Meet Tristan, by Hunter
Tristan is my best friend. He’s the first person I tell good news to and he’s the first person I tell bad news to. He’s been dependable since the first day I met him and I love him for it. When I look at pictures of us I see all the laugher and good times. I also see the work we’ve put in to building our life together, including our home.
More About Tristan, by Hunter
When Tristan talks about the shows he went to as a child here in San Jose with his parents, like Disney on Ice and his first music concerts. He lights up with excitement when he thinks about taking his own child to shows and creating those memories together.
About Tristan, by Tristan
I was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and moved to the Bay Area with my family when I was an infant. While growing up, my favorite sports to play were football, soccer, and basketball. I attended Arizona State University where I graduated with a degree in Psychology. Currently, I work for Meta as a Recruiting Manager that specializes in Mergers and Acquisitions. I have been working there for 6 years and love my job and the people I get to support! Outside of work, I love watching football, going to concerts, or working out at home. In the last few years, I have enjoyed trying to be a chef at home and making fun dishes to eat. I can’t wait to cook special meals with my child in our kitchen.
Our Home
We live in Willow Glen, California. Our neighborhood in San Jose is sometimes referred to as “San Jose’s Local Treasure”. We moved into the neighborhood two years ago and have been loving it more and more each day. Our home is our favorite place to spend time with loved ones laughing about old times while creating new memories together. We picked our home with the intention to grow our family here. The home was perfect with a large backyard that is ready for a little one to have their own jungle gym, a sand box, or play hide and seek with their dads in. We live in a family based community filled with restaurants, holiday traditions, local festivals, parks, playgrounds, and several school options.
Our Family
Our families both live in Northern California which makes family gatherings pretty easy. Hunter’s family is a few hours drive away in Sacramento. Tristan’s parents are a short drive away in San Jose. We enjoy hosting our families for holiday dinners, birthdays, sports games, or BBQ’s in the summer. We all really love to eat so it is always fun to see what dishes everyone brings for a meal.
In addition to having our families nearby, we have a tight knit group of friends locally that we treat as family. We hang out with them every chance we get. We are excited to have our child grow up with all these wonderful family and friends!
Holiday Traditions
As we have grown to be a family, we’ve started our own quirky holiday traditions. Of course, we have traditions for Christmas and Thanksgiving and even the 4th of July, but one that’s our own is the Superbowl. There’s music playing all day and we wear our favorite team jerseys. For Tristan it’s a day to watch past half time shows and relive the music. For Hunter it’s all about the snacks and menu. It’s 7-layer dips, it’s wings, nachos, and grilling burgers even outside in the cold.
Our Family Promises
