Jason & Bonnie
Hello! We are Bonnie and Jason from TX!
Welcome, Thank you for taking the time to read our story and to get to know us a little better. We are very pleased to introduce ourselves to you. We hope we can express to you how excited we are to start our family and we admire your decision to consider adoption.
This has been an incredible journey for us and we want to express to you how thrilled we are to become parents for the first time.
We have a special link to adoption, Bonnie was adopted! We have so much respect for you and your decision, and we hope that this letter will help you to decide if we are the right adoptive parents for you. Please know that if we are picked as adoptive parents to your baby, they will be loved and cherished for always.
We feel that being parents is an honor and we look forward to the day when we may have the privilege of sharing our lives with a child and providing them with unconditional love and a home that encourages them to flourish.”
Our Story, by Bonnie: We met at a get together with friends and it was love at first sight. We felt an instant connection that has grown stronger with every passing day. Since the day we met, we know that we wanted to have children. We have fun no matter what we do, whether on an adventure or spending time at home.
A while after we met, Jason deployed overseas with the military. It was tough being apart but he called every chance he had. It was very difficult but it brought us closer together and helped us learn more about each other in a very unique and special way. After Jason returned, he proposed to me by recreating our first date – a picnic at a lighthouse overlooking the ocean. We had a beautiful outdoor wedding surrounded by family and friends.
We have a loving relationship and feel blessed to have found one another. We make a great team and are looking forward to raising a child together. Due to unsuccessful pregnancies, we decided to start our family through adoption, especially since Bonnie was adopted.
Bonnie loves that Jason is…Giving, Adventurous, Loyal, Smart, Caring, Funny
Jason loves that Bonnie is…Kind, Sincere, Smart, Accepting, Compassionate
About Jason: Jason is a loving man and my best friend. I know that Jason will be an amazing dad, he is a great provider, generous, loving and smart. AFTER COLLEGE, JASON BECAME AN OFFICER IN THE NAVY and went to flight school. He has been a Navy Pilot ever since. He has flown three different kinds of helicopters and three different kinds of airplanes.
His career has granted him the opportunity to travel all over the world. He loves being in the Navy, but is looking forward to being a father and settling down in one place.
JASON HAS SO MANY WONDERFUL QUALITIES. From the day I met him, I immediately noticed his integrity, strong morals, and his ability to make me laugh. He is kind, loving and has the biggest heart. He has all of the qualities I could ever have wished for and so much more. I feel lucky to have Jason as my husband. I love that Jason is a great listener and I can talk to him about anything. I hope that one day I may be able to see my amazing husband as the incredible father I just know he will be.
• Being outdoors
• Cooking and Grilling
About Bonnie: Bonnie is an amazing woman and my best friend. After college, Bonnie worked as a Special Education teacher and found it very satisfying but wanted to be able to help people in a different way and put herself through nursing school.
Since that time Bonnie has flourished as a nurse and loves to be able to provide comfort and compassionate care to all of her patients who often send her flowers and thank you cards after their hospital stay for the amazing care they receive from her. Being a nurse is the perfect match for her personality. This has made her a diverse and well-rounded person who is appreciative for her experiences and the small things in life.
Although Bonnie loves being a nurse, we plan for her to be a stay-at-home mom. She will be taking a break until she can work part-time in the future when our child is of school age.
BONNIE HAS THE BIGGEST HEART AND IS THE KINDEST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN. She has a natural ability to put others at ease and just seems to make things better for those around her.
There’s no one else that I would ever want to share my life with. She is supportive, considerate and always keeping life full of joy and love. She is very funny and makes me laugh all the time. She is very talented and artistic. She paints beautifully and is an amazing photographer.
She has the ability to make our home comfortable and inviting to everyone. Any child’s room we will have will be awesome. She will make the perfect mom, I truly can’t think of anyone better suited to loving and caring for a child. Her patience, kindness and unconditional love are limitless.
Bonnie talks about adoption:
“My own journey with adoption has been a gift to my life. My adoptive parents always told me that I was adopted and that my birth mother loved me. They have always told me just how special I am because I was chosen by them and that my birth mother was selfless because she wanted me to have all things wonderful in the world.
I am so thankful to my birth mother and my adoptive parents. Because of my unique perspective, I believe I can also make a child that enters our lives feel how special and loved they truly are.”
Our Loving Family and Friends
Both of our families are excited about our adoption journey! We are so blessed to be surrounded by supportive family and friends.
BONNIE’S FAMILY » My mother and father live near the coast and my brother lives a short drive away from my parents. It is wonderful to see them all throughout the year. My family has always been open with me about my own adoption and they feel this is such a wonderful opportunity for Jason and I to grow our family.
JASON’S FAMILY » I have always been extremely close with both of my parents. I had a wonderful childhood with my siblings, one brother and one sister. I am an uncle to two nieces and two nephews whom I have often spoiled. I can’t wait to have a child so we can share family traditions and create new ones.
Our friends have always been there for us and their children have always called us “Aunt Bonnie” and “Uncle Jason”. It is an honor to be held in such a regard. Jason has a group of friends that are like brothers to him. No matter the distance, they are always there for one another.
Bonnie also has a tight-knit group of friends that are always there for one another. She met many of her lifelong friends in nursing. We feel lucky to have amazing friends who are so supportive of our dream to become adoptive parents.
Our Home and Closing Thoughts
We love our home in Texas! We recently moved from Rhode Island to Fort Worth, Texas! WE LIVE IN A SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE AND BEAUTIFUL HOME IN TEXAS.
We are excited and are having fun in our new house! Bonnie loves to decorate, paint and collect special items from our travels to add to the decor. Jason likes to do home improvement projects, working in the yard and doing almost anything involving tools. We would enjoy doing these activities with a child and teaching them how to do the things we find fun and exciting.
We look forward to settling in and allowing our roots to grow. Our neighborhood is very pleasant, safe and child friendly.
We both have a strong love and respect for animals and our pets enrich our lives. We can’t wait to raise a child with pets of their own.
Becoming Parents Would Be A Dream Come True: We have always discussed and considered adoption as a possible path for us to grow our family. We believe that adoption is the right path for us as Bonnie is adopted and it has been a wonderful experience for her.
Jason has also had positive experiences through adopted relatives and his best friend growing up. We think that our unique perspectives would allow us to provide a supportive and understanding home to our child and surround them with love.
There are so many things we look forward to:
• Reading to our future child
• Decorating for the holidays
• Sharing our love of animals
• Going to the zoo, park and aquarium
• Going camping
• Family vacations
• Dinner together as a family
• Carrying on family traditions and creating our own
• Bed time stories
• Board games
• Playing sports
