Jen and Jack
Hello from Walnut Creek, California! We are Jen & Jack. We’ve been married 8 years (together 13) and proud parents of our 4-year-old son, Jack (known as “Jack Jack”) who we adopted at birth from Knoxville, TN. We have an open adoption and special relationship with our son’s birth family. With that said, we will respect your wishes with however much contact you desire throughout this process. Although we cannot have children biologically, we truly believe our family formation was meant to be through adoption and are hopeful to grow our family through adoption again.
While we have not met, we know the decision you are making takes remarkable strength and bravery and are so grateful to you for considering us as adoptive parents to your baby. We truly believe in building our family through adoption and are committed to this journey. We have so much love in our hearts and are excited to grow our family.
About Us: As a family, we enjoy to getting outdoors and exploring as much as possible to hike, camp, ride bikes, snowboard, swim, etc. And as much as we enjoy being active, we also LOVE to spend time in our home as a family. We love snuggling up to watch movies, cooking, dancing, building forts in our front room, playing in our backyard, and planting and growing our vegetables garden.
We are a house full of laughter, love and lots and lots (and LOTS) of hugs. Our family creed — every day should start with a kiss and end with a hug. Jack never leaves for work (in the early mornings) without sneaking in his forehead kisses and a quiet goodbye. He is later greeted home with big hugs and squeezes by his welcome party (us). We’re excited and can’t wait to expand our family and share our life of love and adventure.

Meet Jen by Jen: I grew up in the Bay Area with a big family whom I am very close to. I am the oldest of 3 siblings – 2 sisters and 1 brother – who all live nearby. They all have children and love spending time together with the kids.
I am a top recruiter in the Bay Area helping people with all backgrounds find jobs and/or temporary work. I work from home and have a flexible work schedule, so I am home to care for our son and drop off and pick up from school. This flexibility will be very helpful when it comes to bring the new baby home! It’s important that one of us is always home so we can take part in his daily activities and needs.
More About Jen by Jack: Jen is really fun to be around. As the oldest of 4 siblings she has grown up being the organizer and coordinator. She is a connector of people across an array of social, cultural, professional and economic circles. In her career she has provided hundreds of people with jobs as a recruiter in San Francisco.
Jen especially lights up around babies and children. She has endless kisses and warm hugs that make us all feel so loved. She is a natural mother with a sixth sense for understanding children. I love watching her interact with our son and can’t wait to grow our family and share all the love we have to give.
Fun Facts About Jen:
- I am an active person who enjoys anything.
- I love to joke, laugh, love and find ways to bring people together.
- I am known as a social butterfly.
- I have an open mind about everything and always want to see other people happy.
Meet Jack by Jack: I grew up in Pollock Pines, California (close to Lake Tahoe) with my mother, father and younger brother. I graduated Chico State University with a degree in Engineering/Construction Project Management. I am a Project Manager for a construction company specializing in building high rises and just finished a project building a 50-story high rise in downtown San Francisco! I work weekdays starting my day in the early morning so I can be home early with my family to help cook dinner, relax, help with bath time, read bedtime stories and bedtime itself. Family comes first and is always prioritized.
More About Jack by Jen: I love seeing Jack smile, laugh and sing along to songs – stumbling on words and making up his own. Jack is known for his creative dad jokes – it’s a BIG crowd pleaser (for ages 2 – 12)!
Jack is an amazing person, husband, father, friend, brother, uncle, son and godfather. He is my gentle giant with a heart bigger than himself. He has the kindest eyes and sweetest smile. Jack always does the right thing, even if it’s not in his favor. He is genuine and good hearted and always puts others before himself.
Seeing Jack as a dad makes my heart skip a beat. He has so much love to give and makes you feel important and special just the way you are. He is a very hands on and interactive father. Jack is a big kid at heart and loves getting down on the ground and playing with our son, nieces and nephews…kids think he’s the funniest/silliest person in the whole wide world and frankly, so do I. He’s the foundation to this family.
Fun Facts About Jack:
- I can’t go anywhere without someone asking how tall I am.
- I love to play, watch, and attend sports events.
- I love to surround myself with family and friends.
- I’m known as the breakfast master and LOVE creating one-of-a-kind pancakes.
We love living in the Bay Area! We live in a 3-bedroom home on a .5-acre lot in Walnut Creek (~ 30 minutes from San Francisco, California). We have a beautifully designed open concept house with 360 views of Mt. Diablo. Our neighborhood is known as a small, family friendly community and is perfect for kids. Our backyard opens up to a top-rated Elementary School too!
We love going for walks after dinner and picnicking at the park next door on the weekends. Our home is central to everything. We consider ourselves lucky to be able to live in such a beautiful location next to many family friendly attractions such as community pool, park, farmers market, shops, restaurants, hiking trails, bike trails, etc.
Our Cabin: We also own a vacation home in Lake Tahoe that we travel to on occasional weekends. It’s a 3-bedroom cabin by the lake. This place is special to us because that’s where our love story began and we want to share all the beauty of Lake Tahoe with our family and friends.
A Typical Week for Us
- We take joyrides in our convertible 1954 Buick Roadmaster that was passed down to us by Jack’s father.
- We host BBQ with our family and friends.
- We make banana pancakes, garden, soak up the sun, go to the park and explore.
- We ride our bicycles to the farmers market to pick up fresh fruit and veggies for the week.
- Consist of work, school, music & theatre class and play dates.
- Although our weekdays can be busy we ALWAYS slowdown the evening to cook dinner, read books and snuggle up for movies.
Meet Jack Jack: Jack is an active little boy who loves to run, jump, sing, dance and show off his muscles. He enjoys playing with friends, cousins and meeting new friends. He likes to tell knock knock jokes and make people laugh. He is a very sweet boy with a big heart. He is very sensitive to other people’s feelings and always looking for ways to make people happy. He has all the characteristics of an older sibling and we are confident he will make the best big brother, mentor, protector and best friend anyone could dream of having. Also, since Jack was also adopted, he will share that bond with your child!
Some of His Favorite Things Are:
- Halloween candy
“I want to be a big brother because I am a big boy now and have really REALLY big muscles. I can show them how to run super-fast and share all my dinosaurs and treasures. But I won’t share my Halloween candy. Babies can’t have candy, only big kids.” – From Jack
Our Family: We have a big, loving, and diverse family. Amongst our family we have very supportive friends. We also consider our close friends’ an extension of our family because we believe families are formed in various ways. Our parents/grandparents live local and close to our home. They love spoiling all the grandkids and spending time with them any chance they get.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts: Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents to your child. We can only imagine how difficult and overwhelming it must be to look at profiles from so many different families. Trying to decide if there is something there that draws you to this unknown family who you may potentially choose to be the adoptive parents for your child has a weight we cannot imagine. We really hope we are the family you are looking for!
We are committed to open adoption and knowing your dreams and wishes for your child is really important to us. We will talk openly with your child about how they became part of our family and why their story is special, because you are special.
With hopeful and loving hearts,
Jen, Jack, & Jack
