Jen and Ryan

Hi! We are Jen & Ryan from Missouri. Thank you for taking time to learn about our family! The decision you’ve made shows how courageous and truly selfless you are and we are grateful you are considering us in that decision. Our promise to you; we will provide a loving, nurturing and stable environment for your child. Our hope is through these pages you will be able to see the love we have for each other, our children and your future child.

We have two children. Colton, 11 and William 23, both boys from Ryan’s previous marriage. We love both our boys with all our hearts, but feel our family is not yet complete, and want to become a family of 4 through adoption! We have chosen to adopt due to our inability to have children naturally and our desire to offer the best life possible to both you the birth mother and your baby. We are very excited to start this journey with you and grow our family!

Our Story: We met at the Colorado Horse Expo. Jen had a terrible horse with a VERY nasty attitude. Ryan was the foremost horse behaviorist in the country. Jen employed Ryan to rehabilitate her horse. Over the next six months he spent time working through her horses issues and getting to know Jen better. After Ryan dropped off my horse Jen thought it would be the last time she would ever see him. Little did we know, just a few years later we would be married!

We reconnected a few years later when Jen sent Ryan a question about horse training through Facebook. Several months of phone calls, trips to see each other, a few weeks together in Florida, and Jen picked up everything and moved to Missouri to be closer to Ryan.  Two years later, we were engaged on Jen’s birthday!  She had no idea it was coming and was so surprised she actually said no at first followed by OMG YES!!!!! We were engaged for just a few month and were married on October 6, 2018 in a beautiful beach wedding on Sanibel Island, Florida.

We have always felt like we were missing a part of our family, that only a little one could fill. Ryan’s youngest son was a miracle of sorts. He was conceived after many years of heart break, tears and a resounding denial of it ever happening.  He didn’t want to go through all that again. Instead we decided our best option was to help a young mother and her wonderful child.

Fun Fact: We take a cruise each year. We have been through the entire Caribbean and in the future we want to see Alaska, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. We both love to travel and want to share the world with your child.

About Jen

Meet Jen by Ryan: Jen is loyal, trustworthy, selfless, ambitious, attractive, smart, funny, and a good listener; everyone loves her. I am blessed to be able to call her my wife, my best friend and soon a mother. Jen is a wonderfully loving, caring, devoted, intelligent, strong, and fearless woman. She is an incredible step mother to my youngest boy. She is the most amazing wife and my best friend. I am impressed by her each and everyday.

Jen’s favorite pass time is her horses.  She is completely fearless on a horse.  When she competes in The Cross Country Course, I run the entire course watching her progress throughout. Each time meeting her at the finish line with a kiss, a hug, and to see the huge smile she always is wearing.

She has always wanted to have children of her own. She is always telling me that she can’t wait to have another little one in the house. I think what she wants most is to buy them a pony! We’re lucky that we both work from home and have stable jobs. We will split child care so your child will never need day care!

About Ryan

Our Home

We live on 26 beautiful rolling acres just outside of a small rural town in northeastern Missouri. It is very private, secluded and peaceful place. We have a large garden, where we grow our food, chickens for eggs, and large pastures to roam. We are very outdoorsy people and very much enjoy being in nature.

We live in a 5 bedroom, 3 1/2bath ranch home. We have a large horse barn, fenced pastures and a 2 1/2 acre fishing pond. We have a large fenced in backyard that backs up to the woods.

One of our family traditions is to go to our vacation home in Captiva, Florida. We have a swimming pool where we play and watch the dogs swim. We typically go out fishing in the bay a couple times during our stay. We have friends that live in the area so we spend time with them and their families.

As a family we enjoy…

  • Spending time together
  • Movie nights with popcorn
  • Playing Uno
  • BBQ with family and friends on our deck

We have a lot of pets! All together we have 13 dogs, 3 cats, 7 horses, and 10 chickens.

Our Loved Ones

Our youngest son, Colton (12): He is an amazing, special young man. He is the quintessential giver. Always looking to help out with daily chores. His heart is so big and caring. He is sensitive to others needs, is all about the rules. He is an incredible student, being a near straight A student. He loves to fish, hunt, loves to play Fortnite and have nerf wars with us. He loves his family. He spends half his week with his mother and the other half with us at our home. He is super excited to be able to have a younger sibling he can protect and care for.

Our oldest son, William (23): While he doesn’t live with us any longer we continue to have a strong relationship. He is off creating his own family and memories. He is looking forward to having a younger sibling as well.

Ryan’s Family – My mother and father live in the area. Both are of failing health but still have a few good years left. My younger brother and older sister live in the area as well. We typically will have holidays together at my fathers house. I’m much closer to my brother than my sister. My brother and I share the same hobbies and views.

Jen’s Family – My mother, father, and 2 older brothers all live in Colorado. We don’t get to see them often but we do try to talk with them a couple times a week. We also try to plan for them to come visit us at least once a year. My mother loves to help me plant flowers and work on the garden whenever she comes to Missouri. I am very close to the younger of my two older brothers and his fiancé. We love joking, laughing, and hanging out with each other. No matter what we do, it is always a good time spending time with them!

We have a small group of friends that are spread out across the US. Ryan used to travel a lot for his job and thus made a lot of friendships around the country. Jen is from Colorado, with most of her friends living in that area. We do have a intimate group of friends here that we see occasionally.

Our Promise to You:

  • We will provide a loving, financially stable, adventurous, amazing family to your child.
  • Your child will have everything you ever could dream of for them.
  • Your child will be loved beyond measure.
  • We will provide an excellent education for your child.
  • Your child will always know the great love you have for them.
  • We are hoping for an open adoption, so you and your child can continue to have a relationship if you so desire.

Thank You: Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family and what makes us special. If our family seems to be the right fit for your child, we would love the opportunity to meet with you.
