Hello! This sacrifice, which I am sure was unbelievably challenging, is the ultimate display of motherly love. This must be the most difficult decision of your life, and I can’t imagine the bravery it is taking. Your strength is inspirational, and although I may not have been fortunate enough to be blessed with becoming a mother on my own, your selfless act of love will allow me to love and care for your child in a way that is greater than imaginable. Your child will always come first in my life, and they will grow up in a loving home surrounded by friends and family. Thank you for taking a glimpse at who I am and the wonderful life I can provide for your child.
Dear Birth Mother...
About Me
Hi! I am Jessica from the beautiful, sunny Coronado, California. I was born in Upstate New York and raised in Mississippi. My parents divorced when I was young and remarried, adding more people to my life to love and support me. We would attend church every Sunday, and I would go to youth group on Wednesdays. I was involved in the school choir and acapella group in high school and a part of a show choir and performance choir in college. I have wanted to become a mother since I was a child. While I haven’t been able to find a partner to share this journey with, I have tried other avenues to get pregnant, but unfortunately, it didn’t take. I am emotionally and financially secure, own a house, and am ready to take on the responsibility of being a mom. I have a love for life, and I try to find joy in every situation. I see the glass half-full and do my best to find the good in everyone. My relationships with my friends and family mean the world to me.
Things That Make Me Happy
- Playing with my dog Toby
- Watching the monkeys play at the zoo
- Practicing yoga
- Snuggling on the couch during a rainstorm
- Coffee time with friends
- My mom’s cooking
Meet Toby
I adopted Toby twelve years ago from a rescue when he was ten weeks old. He goes everywhere with me, and he likes to visit my friends, go to the beach and dog park, and most of all, he loves to sleep! He is great around children and is loved by my friends’ children. He will make a great companion to your child.
My Friends
I have a large support system of friends; some live a couple of blocks away and are here to support my future child and me. My friends would say I love to laugh, care for others, and am compassionate, giving, and inclusive of others. I spend a lot of time with friends, and we get together for dinners, game nights, movie nights, and holiday festivities. Most of my friends have children who call me “Aunt Jess.” My friends are very excited and supportive of my adoption plan.
My House and Community
I live in a three-bedroom house in a safe, quiet, beach-front city near San Diego, CA. I have a deck for a play area and am surrounded by the beach and parks. The beach is within walking distance, and I take a morning and evening walk to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. My community is small and tight knit with year-round events. My favorite is the summer concerts, where children and adults enjoy dancing and socializing. The school is only two blocks from my home, where I see many parents walking their kids to school. The community offers opportunities for children to play, socialize, participate in sports, be creative, and, most importantly, be loved.
Holiday Traditions
I love to celebrate every holiday, and I always decorate the house and work for each one. For Thanksgiving, I always have “Friendsgiving” at my house the weekend before, and on Thanksgiving Day, the entire family gets together to eat, nap, and play games. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I have friends and family over to help decorate the tree and the house. We attend the Christmas Eve service at church, and afterward, my dad always reads the “Cajun Night Before Christmas” to everyone. The other Christmas must-have is my dad’s homemade eggnog; it is the best!! Easter Sunday, we go to church and then go home to color Easter eggs and have dinner with family. Coronado has a huge Fourth of July parade and fireworks. The streets are lined with American flags, and the entire town enjoys the festivities. I can’t wait to share the holidays with my future child and will make sure they experience old traditions and make new traditions together.
Interests and Hobbies
Baking is one of my favorite things to do, but I don’t eat my treats. I share them with my friends and neighbors. I also started crafting a few years ago, creating my own art on tumblers and pens to give to family and friends. I enjoy yoga, the beach, traveling, Hallmark movies, and BBQs.

My Travels
Traveling is a big part of my life, and I explore new places in my area and around the world. I have been to many countries and have a long list of places I still want to visit. It is important for children to learn about other cultures, and it will increase diversity in their lives. I have traveled in Europe, South Africa, Alaska, Hawaii, and Thailand, and I have had the opportunity to live in Japan for the last two years.
My Career
I am a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, and I am currently attending school for my Advanced Practice Nursing degree for the Navy. Before joining the Navy, I was working in Critical Care and worked at Carnival Cruise Lines, volunteer missions, and trauma centers. I have been a nurse for 22 years and absolutely love my job. The Navy has provided remarkable benefits, healthcare, college funds for my future child, and travel. I have lived in Japan for the Navy and will continue to have the opportunity to live all over the world. I am looking forward to sharing these experiences with my future child.
Messages From My Friends
“I consider Jessica one of my closest friends. She has been there for me on many occasions, and now she is there for my son too. He loves to play with her, and she teaches him many things. The whole time I have known her, she has been a giving, loving person to everyone. Many of our friends have kids, and she is amazing with them. She teaches me things about parenting my own son. If anyone is made to be a mom, it is her; she is truly a mom to her core.” - My friend, Amanda
“I consider Jessica one of my best friends. She is a kind and caring person who goes above and beyond for other people. One of the things I appreciate the most is that she welcomes new people with open arms. When we were on deployment, she ensured that everyone enjoyed the holidays even though they were away from home. She brought along decorations for every holiday we would spend at sea and made the holidays special for everyone… that’s just the kind of person she is! I consider myself fortunate to have met her.” - My friend, Cristina
“I have been friends with Jessica for 13 years. Jessica is kind, caring, patient, and thoughtful, with a strong moral code. I believe she would make a wonderful mother because she has a heart full of love, and I know that she will be extremely grateful to give that love to a child.” - My friend, Deb
Messages From My Family
“Jessica is one of the most upbeat, optimistic, and caring people I know. She is always there for everyone, has a natural gift for relating to children, and never condescends to them. She is a natural caregiver, represented by her chosen field of work as a nurse, has an active lifestyle, and has traveled the world. Jessica has always wanted to be a mom, and I know she would be a gift to any child’s life. As for me, I can’t wait to be an auntie and have a new addition to our family.” - My sister, Melissa
“Jessica was a big contributor taking care of our baby sister, and we called her the little Momma. She is patient, loving, thoughtful, and organized, makes great personal and professional decisions, and is always prepared for whatever comes her way. She will be an excellent mother and provider to any child and is mentally and financially ready to provide a stable and loving home. She has a strong support system of friends and family.” - My sister, Angela
