Our family and friends are excited to welcome a new member into our loving group. As you make this difficult decision, we hope that you will contact us and get to know us better.
Thank you and be well,
Kevin and Marylou
Our love of the arts brought us together. We met working backstage at an opera company in Washington, DC. Both of us remember meeting on stage for the first time. Kevin was working with the directors and designers to create the scenery for all the shows and Marylou was working with the singers and stage managers to organize the rehearsal and performance schedules. Over the years, we worked closely producing operas. It wasn’t until Marylou was given the task of opening a brand new rehearsal hall for the company and Kevin was chosen to help her that a deeper relationship developed. And the rest is history…
A few years later, we married in Lake Tahoe, one of our favorite places to go skiing. Our families still talk about how much fun we had that week. We are so excited to be celebrating our 10th anniversary soon. Every year our relationship grows stronger & stronger.
By Kevin: Marylou, or Malou as most of her friends and family call her, will make the best, loving, kind, patient mother. She is the one everyone trusts and talks to. She is always making me laugh. We truly complement each other because things that drive me crazy, she finds challenging or fun and vice versa.
Malou loves hanging out with family and friends and playing games of any type: computer, board, and card games. She also loves to play sports (volleyball, softball, tennis, golf…). She’s been playing volleyball since she was little and even helped coach a youth volleyball team. If she’s not out playing sports or spending time with family and friends, you’ll find her curled up on the sofa with a good book.
She is an amazing and beautiful woman!
Kevin is funny, considerate and kind and would make a wonderful father. He’s a great listener and always puts others needs before his own. Because his dad was a Foreign Service officer, Kevin has such an appreciation for different cultures and loves trying new foods. He was born in the Netherlands and he has lived around the world in India, Mexico, and Guatemala.
He loves skiing and playing tennis and golf. He’s even trying bikram (hot) yoga because I started doing it.
He loves being with family and friends and helping other people. If someone has a project for their house, he’s the first one to volunteer to help. When we’re entertaining, he’s always the one cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.
Kevin will do everything in his power to provide for, protect, nurture, and love a child we would be blessed to have placed with us.
Our home is perfect for kids and entertaining. We have spent many years lovingly renovating our 5 bedroom 3 bath house. It’s located on a very quiet street surrounded by trees. Our street flows directly into the local trails and parkland.
We want everyone who comes into our house to be comfortable. Our home is their home too. We’ve tried our best to make sure that it is as child friendly as possible with toys and books for the kids and safety gates on the stairs. We even have a kid’s room that has a changing table, a high chair, and cribs for our friends and family to use when they visit or stay with us.
Our neighborhood has a ton of events that bring the community together such as Spring Tea, Easter Egg Hunt, Holiday Celebration and Christmas Caroling, AutumnFest, etc.
Because of the great schools, a lot of families live in our neighborhood. Northern Virginia has some of the best schools in the nation. Our city was named as one of the top places in the nation to educate one’s child.
