Kyle & Jen
Hello from Jen & Kyle in Los Angeles!
We so respect and admire your choice to choose adoption even though we can’t imagine how difficult this choice must be for you. In our house, you would be described as a brave, strong and selfless woman. We can’t wait to get to know you.
We feel strongly about bringing a child into our life through adoption. Jen’s dad came into her life when she was 5 years old, so our family has always known that families do not have to be biological for there to be deep love and connection. Everything in life happens for a reason and we know that we have been led to this process at exactly the right time!
We Promise To
• Respect and support your child
• Let them be the person they are, no matter who that may be
• Spend every day showering your child with love
• Make them smile and laugh every day
• Teach them kindness and compassion
• Never let them go a day without hearing how much we love them
OUR LIFE IS filled with lots of laughter + “I love you’s.” We have always been honest with each other + never let the other person doubt how much they are loved + respected. We can’t wait to show our future child that same unconditional love!
In a suburban town right outside of San Francisco, Jen, a nerdy high school girl with pink framed glasses lived down the street from Kyle, the coolest guy at his high school, who loved making people laugh.
A few years later, we would both end up living 8 hours away in Southern California as Jen was finding her way into the start of her career as an intern at Sony Studios and Kyle lived right down the street. But, still, it wouldn’t be until ten years later that we would finally meet 3,000 miles across the country while we were both in NYC.
There was an instant connection, like we had known each other forever, and since then, we have seen each other almost everyday, finding out that life is so much better when we are together. Kyle proposed at the top of the Empire State Building, on a Christmas trip to NYC.
We got married on a farm between the rolling hills on the central coast of CA, surrounded by family, friends and cows!
• Walking to the Sunday Farmers Market
• Watching our favorite TV shows such as Games of Thrones, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Netflix documentaries, Comedy specials and Silicon Valley
• Hiking and taking walks in our neighborhood
• Taking weekend trips to Ojai and Palm Springs, and visiting Kyle’s friends in NYC once a year around Christmas time
About Kyle, by Kyle: I was born and raised in Northern California and spent my formative years in a small rural town. I love nature and was lucky to grow up roaming the woods with my dog exploring, fishing, and dirt biking all around our ranch.
I had a small but loving family including my sister Jessica and my mom Karin – the best most courageous mom you could ever ask for, who always allowed me to be me.
Art, humor and creativity have always been very important to me. I’ve explored my filmmaking interests over the years with a great group of hilarious, creative friends and recently co-wrote and produced an award-winning feature film entitled “Donald Cried” that was released in theaters nationwide.
My Career: My day job is event photography which is a great way to incorporate my creative impulses as well as provide me with a great living. I make my own flexible schedule that allows plenty of time at home, hopefully to be able to spend a lot of quality time with our future child!
More About Kyle by Jen
• He has the biggest heart and gives the best hugs!
• He is hilarious, extremely talented and worked hard for a career he loves.
• He makes me feel safe and cared for.
• He is the smartest person I’ve ever met.
• He loves movies, coffee, his mama and his friends like they are family.
• He makes the best eggs for breakfast and the best Mexican food.
• He’s not afraid of anything (not even bugs).
I can’t wait to see all the great things he will teach our future child and know he will show him/her more love than could ever be imagined because that’s what he shows me every day. I never dreamed I would have a partner in life as great as Kyle and cannot wait to see him be a dad!
“I really look forward to being a parent and raising our future child in a supportive environment where I can help instill values of respect, compassion, courage with a healthy dose of humor.” – KYLE
About Jen, by Jen: I grew up in a very close-knit family made up of my mom Julia, dad Mike, brother Matt, sister Sarah and lots of extended family. As the oldest sibling, I have grown up helping to take care of my brother and sister and have dreamed of the day I would have a family of my own.
My Career: I have worked very hard in my career as a producer for various TV shows like Dancing With The Stars, America’s Got Talent, American Idol, and specials such as Stand Up To Cancer. I love creating entertaining shows that families can watch together, but it’s also important for me to do what I can to help others. I have spent a lot of my time working for non-profit charities and causes that help children.
I work with a lot of people who have children, and parenting always comes before work. There are kids on set at any given time, running around in the office or watching our shows from the front row of the audience. My work schedule allows me to take a few months off at various times throughout every year, so there will be lots of time for us to travel or just be at home with our future child.
“I look forward to showing our future child that with love, compassion, generosity, honesty and hard work, anything is possible! I also can’t wait
to share my love for cooking and crafting!” – Jen
More About Jen, by Kyle: Jen is hands down the best, most kind and loving person I’ve ever met.
• She has aura of kindness that permeates every room she walks into.
• She is the most empathetic person I’ve met.
• She cares deeply about social issues and equality for all people.
• She’s a strong and loyal friend and never speaks poorly about people she loves.
• She makes me feel very loved and I’m always looking forward to every minute I get to spend with her.
Did I mention kids? She loves them and they love her, like instantly. Her smile lights up the room as soon as she sees a child, and she’s always been a magnet for them as they are always drawn to her loving and genuine vibe. I’m the absolute luckiest guy to spend the rest of my life with her as my partner.
Our Loving Family and Friends
We live very close to Jen’s immediate and extended family and see them almost every weekend, whether it’s for swimming at Jen’s parents’ pool, BBQs, or spending time at the beach.
Kyle’s mom and her husband Paul visit from New Mexico often and look forward to moving to the Los Angeles area soon, so that they can be closer to their future grandchild!
We love to spend holidays with both of our families together in one place. It has become a tradition to rent a big house together in the snow, and we have spent Christmases in Upstate New York, Bass Lake and Yosemite.
In the summer, we love to camp and take trips to Palm Springs. We are both the happiest when we are surrounded by our family – cooking food, baking desserts, playing board games, hiking and watching movies.
We are so blessed to have such supportive friends who all recently began having children, so a lot of our time is spent by reading books and playing with some very awesome children!
Our Home and Closing Thoughts
We live in walking distance to many great restaurants, parks, book stores and shops and spend a lot of time taking walks to lunch or dinner and brunch on the weekends.
We take advantage of all the things that Southern California has to offer, whether it’s taking drives to the beach in the summers, day trips to Disneyland or the zoo, or skiing in the mountains in the winter.
We love our neighborhood in Los Angeles, California and feel so lucky to live in a warm and comfortable home with a big kitchen where we make lots of great meals for our family and friends.
About Mitzy, our cat: We rescued our little cat a year and a half ago, but she is really the one who has rescued us – with her endless affection, spunk and fluffiness!! She runs to greet us every single time we come home, she purrs when she gets fed, loves rolling on her back and she lets us pick her up and snuggle her as much as we want.
In Closing: We want to say again how much we respect and admire your decision to choose adoption. We can’t wait to become parents and have a lot of love to give. We know we will always do whatever we can to provide the best life possible, with unconditional love, support and guidance.
If you feel a connection to us or our story, we hope to have the opportunity to hear more about you and your hopes and dreams for your child’s future.
