Laurence & Juliet
Hello! We are Juliet & Laurence
Dear Birth Mother: Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and for considering us as adoptive parents. We truly appreciate the love and selflessness it takes to choose the path of adoption. As much as we hope that you pick us, we know you will find a family that you connect with, and we know that your decision will be the right one.
Our Story: We met up with a group of mutual friends at a Coffee Bean café. The two of us had not yet met, but by luck we sat next to each other. We instantly hit it off and talked for hours. Slowly but surely, everyone else left and we closed down the shop! From then on, we spoke every single day.
It was a beautiful New Year’s Day when we went on a motorcycle ride together and Laurence surprised Juliet with a ring while they sat together on the beach. We were married less than a year later surrounded by family and friends.
Together We Enjoy:
• Walking our dogs
• Catching a good movie
• Cooking and trying new food
• Traveling to explore new places
Why Adoption and What Parenthood Means To Us: Very early on in our relationship, we talked about having a family. We always knew we wanted to be adoptive parents. We have a sister, niece and cousins who are adopted, and we feel that family is so much more than biology. We are lucky to have a great support system and lots of family.
To us, becoming parents means providing a safe and nurturing environment. We look forward to sharing our loving home with a child. They will get tons of hugs and kisses, and we will read to them often (doing all the voices)! We are excited to share our passion for music, theater, and cooking! We promise to encourage whatever his or her talents and interests may be.
About Juliet: I grew up in a large Filipino family with 2 sisters and 3 brothers. My childhood was filled with big family parties full of laughter and delicious home-cooked Filipino food. I did gymnastics and martial arts, and later performed in a stunt show using these skills. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Radio & Television Arts) from Ryerson University.
For years I have worked as an actor, writer, producer, and director. Now I am ready to be a stay-at-home mom. While Laurence is definitely the cook in our family, I love to bake things like peach cobbler, banana bread and corn bread. I’m looking forward to playing theater games, doing silly voices, having fun with face paint, drawing and reading with our future child.
About Juliet, by Laurence: Juliet is the kindest and most caring person I have ever known. She loves selflessly and completely. I love her because she understands me and accepts me for who I am. We laugh together all the time, we talk about everything, and she truly is my best friend. She is a joyful person. Seeing her with our little nieces and nephews just confirms what I have known since we first met: she will be a nurturing and wonderful mother.

About Laurence: My parents were very supportive and always kept me busy with sports and music. My time spent with my 3 siblings growing up was filled with music, art and comedy. My younger sister is adopted, and she has always challenged me to be a better person. Part of the reason I am excited to adopt now is because of the great relationship my younger sister and I have.
In college I went through a dual degree program where I studied jazz performance on drumset and recording engineering. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Science. I spent the last 10 years working on music for TV, film and video games, and now I have a great job working for a top tech company. My current job allows me some flexibility, and I get to work from my home studio at times.
About Laurence, by Juliet: I love Laurence because I can talk to him about anything and he is always there for me. He is a great listener and is so supportive. I know he will be a wonderful father because he is kind and loving while also smart, strong and very responsible. He also knows how to have loads of fun. It’s hilarious watching my nephews climb all over him as if he’s a human jungle gym. Laurence is such a good sport and you can tell that he is just having a blast playing with them!
He takes care of our family now and I know that he is looking forward to the important duties of fatherhood. Laurence is special to me because I truly believe that we are the perfect match. I cannot see myself with anyone else and I’m so excited for us to become parents together.

Our Family & Friends
Laurence’s Family: My parents knew each other since elementary school. My mom supported our family as a teacher while my dad was in medical school. After my dad became a surgeon, my mom focused on working with learning disabled children. They raised my older sister, my younger brother, my younger adopted sister and me here in LA. They both worked very hard to make sure we had whatever we needed. They divorced after 30 years and my dad has remarried. I now have 2 half brothers and a half sister who are amazing.
It has been really great to have so many siblings who are spread so far apart in age. I have had the benefit of my older sister’s experience, and get to look out for all of my younger siblings. My immediate family lives here in LA, except for my older sister (with her husband and adopted daughter) in Seattle and my younger sister in Washington DC. We travel to see my sisters about once a year. We all get together here in LA to celebrate Jewish holidays.
While Juliet and I grew up with different backgrounds, we honor each other’s traditions, find common ground, and learn from one another.
Juliet’s Family: My parents are both immigrants from the Philippines and moved to Canada with dreams for a better life. They worked extremely hard to provide for our family, and always made sure we participated in the Catholic community. My father is a Jack-of-all-trades. My mother worked for the government until she took a job at the local hospital so she could be closer to home. I have a great relationship with them and my 5 siblings.
I was the baby of the family, and they all guided and took care of me. They live in Canada and we visit them once a year. My father’s brothers and sisters live in California, so I am lucky to have them and lots of cousins, nieces and nephews close by. Thanksgiving and Christmas are usually spent at a cousin’s home. We have big Filipino family parties, sometimes themed, and always full of a lot of laughter and fun!
Our Home and Closing Thoughts
Our Home and Community: We live in a cute and cozy home in the Los Angeles area. We are fortunate to be part of a family-friendly neighborhood full of kids, and there is an elementary school one block away!
Within a 10 min walk from home is a park with baseball fields, basketball courts, a skate park, community center and a playground. In a short driving distance one direction we have Kenneth Hahn State Park (one of the largest parks in the LA area), and in the other direction we have the beautiful Southern California coast and beaches.
Our Pups: Laurence rescued Penny when she was around 2-years-old. When she turned 9, she started acting a bit older, so we decided to get a puppy to give her a friend and help keep her young. It worked! Madeline was only about 2-months-old when we rescued her. Now Penny is around 11 and Madeline is 2-years-old. They are best friends! They love to chase each other all over the yard, walk with us around the neighborhood, and snuggle with us.
In Closing and Final Thoughts: Thank you again for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents. We would be overjoyed to be chosen, but we also understand that there are many wonderful people to choose from. Whatever you decide is the right choice!
