Shaun & Bryan
Hello! We are Shaun and Bryan from San Francisco
Thank you for taking some time to get to know us and for reading our story. Words cannot describe the admiration and respect we have for you as you make this incredibly brave step. We are no stranger to adoption, as Bryan was part of an open adoption as a baby.
The most important thing in our life is staying close to our families and friends in California and the Midwest. We strive to surround ourselves with a world of love and support and we’d be honored to include your child as a part of our family circle.
As parents, we will focus on providing unconditional love, encouragement, acceptance and authenticity. We are incredibly grateful that you would consider us to love and raise your child, it would truly make our dreams come true.
About Us: Our adventure together began in Chicago, over 7 years ago, at a mutual friend’s backyard BBQ. In search of milder weather, we relocated to and fell in love with San Francisco. We’ve grown to love the Bay Area and all that it has to offer, from incredible natural beauty to a love-your-neighbor mentality. We love calling this place home.
Both Midwest natives (Missouri and Nebraska), we were raised in large, hardworking and humble families. One of our greatest memories together was being surrounded by our family and friends as we vowed to be there for each other for the rest of our lives. Our extended family continues to grow, with our siblings starting to have families of their own. Everyone in our family is extremely excited and supportive of our desire to be parents and are thrilled at the idea of a new addition.
What We Love To Do: All of our friends would describe us as a laid back couple who love to cook, play games at home or get out into nature and explore. During the week, you’ll likely find us hanging out around the house or taking the dog for a stroll around the neighborhood.
Every day after work, we cook dinner together in the kitchen while listening to records. We love to fill the house with the delicious scents of our passed down families’ recipes. This is also true during the holidays, as our friends and family gather around the table to enjoy a meal together filled with laughs.
On the weekends, we tend to get out of the city and into nature. We love to get in the car and head to Yosemite, Russian River, Big Sur or the many other areas where we can hike, swim, camp or just spend a full day in the fresh air.
We’re avid travelers. While our most common travels are to be with family and friends, we also like to explore far off places we’ve never seen together, and look forward to making our future adventures family trips.
About Shaun, by Bryan: Shaun is an extremely thoughtful + wholehearted individual. TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM.
He lives his life in order to protect and foster meaningful relationships with those in his orbit. He is an incredible rock in our relationship, one that continues to offer me advice and perspectives that push my understanding of the world around me.
Immense wit, humor, and charm are one of the first things you notice about Shaun. He truly cares about those around him and how he can make their lives better. Shaun loves to create new experiences for us through his love of travel and seeing new places.
Shaun also has a love for family walks with the dog, spending time creating art, listening to music and spending time in nature. For any child to grow up under the eye of Shaun would ensure that the child was safe, open-minded and provided the opportunity to reach their full life’s potential.

A Closer Look at US
Why Adoption: From the start, we discussed our shared desire to build a family. Since then, we’ve explored other options, but given Bryan’s own amazing experience with open adoption, we decided that this is the best route for us. We love each other more than anything in the world and know we’ll extend that love to your child, if entrusted with us.
How We’ll Parent: Overall, we’ll focus on providing consistency, sincere love, sympathy, encouragement, acceptance + patience.
• We’ll thoughtfully teach what adoption means, where they came from and how much they are loved from all of their families.
• They’ll always be encouraged and feel safe being themselves.
• Education will be a focus and we’ll ensure there’s always a safe and productive environment to learn through all stages.
• We’ll take your child on worldly adventures to experience new people, places and cultures so they can see all the good the world has to offer.
• We’ll provide love, healthy food, clean clothes…the basic things all children need to be happy and healthy.
• They’ll have access to arts + science to appreciate beauty and understand how the world works.
Our Home and Closing Thoughts
Our Home: We CURRENTLY LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA in a cute and safe neighborhood called Noe Valley that is full of young families and children. The neighborhood features beautiful rows of traditional Victorian and Edwardian homes, and thanks to surrounding hills, has some of the city’s sunniest weather.
The neighborhood is known for stroller pushers and dog walkers walking along the main street, which is stocked with kid-friendly toy stores, bakeries and relaxed cafes. A weekly farmers’ market is held in the town square that also doubles as a children’s play area. We have many friends with kids that live in our neighborhood, so there will be no shortage of backyard BBQs with other kids to play with.
Meet Wrigley: We also have a 3 year old French Bulldog named Wrigley, who’s possibly the sweetest and most hilarious dog in the world. Wrigley enjoys long naps on the couch, playing fetch on the beach and getting any food scraps that might accidentally make it to the floor.
In Closing: Thank you for taking the time to look through our profile to get to know us a bit. We come into this open adoption process with an open mind and an open heart, with lots of love to share with your child.
We would love to continue this conversation so you can see first hand how excited we are to become loving fathers.
