Shaune & Stacey
Hello from Shaune, Stacey & Alex!
Thank you for taking the time to ready our letter. We are Shaune, Stacey, and Alexander from North Texas. We are a playful, fun-loving couple who have been happily married for 13 years. We have both been blessed with large, loving families and lifelong friendships.
In 2014, our son Alex joined our family through adoption and every day we thank God for bringing us together. We are anxiously waiting to share our love and our lives with another amazing child and look forward to the day when Alex has a brother or sister with whom he can share life’s adventures and the experience of being adopted. We can’t pretend to know the emotions and the questions you have as you plan for your child’s future, but know from the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely admire you for being self-sacrificing and brave. We pray you have comfort and peace on your journey and find the family you are seeking.
We met by chance at a church dinner in the fall of 2004. We became close friends and after months of engaging conversations, Shaune “conveniently” left his books in Stacey’s car one evening after bible study and wouldn’t you know it, Friday at 7:00pm was the only day he had time to meet her to retrieve his things.
Our first date was spent driving around the city, singing songs on the radio and drinking bubble tea. Shaune purposed to Stacey on her birthday, over dinner. Stacey was elated until she realized she left her phone at home and couldn’t tell anyone for three hours! Within the year we were married and cut our cake in the very spot where we met.
We view ourselves as a couple who bring a balance to each other. Our personalities are complementary. Shaune is ambitious, quick-witted, and intellectual, while Stacey is creative, high-spirited, and thoughtful. We have shared many adventures and milestones together in our marriage.
Eight years ago, we embarked upon our greatest adventure to date. Several years, and several doctors, into our marriage, we were diagnosed with male and female infertility. We always knew we wanted children and we started growing our family through adoption. In 2014, we were blessed with Alex, our handsome little man.
Things We Love Doing Together
• Spending time together as a family
• Our traditional Friday night Netflix and pizza nights
• Anything outdoors: picnics, hiking, camping, you name it!
• We eat healthy and stay active. Shaune plays soccer as a goalie while Stacey likes yoga and Zumba. Alex loves to jump on his mini-trampoline and run!
• Traveling to new places and exploring the history and culture. We will try any ethnic food at least once.
Meet Shaune – through Stacey’s eyes
I knew Shaune was marriage material when I caught a glimpse of him playing with a friend’s son in the grass outside of a restaurant. I saw his paternal side and knew he would be a good daddy one day.
Shaune is playful, encouraging, gentle, and patient. He is very present in our son’s life and very hands on. He does everything from diapers and baths, to playing in the dirt with monster trucks in our backyard. One of my favorite things to do is eavesdrop when he is reading or singing to Alex. I love watching Shaune grow into fatherhood.
Shaune is a hardworking, laid back and ambitious guy. He has a gorgeous smile and a talent for telling jokes and making people laugh. Shaune inherited his dad’s natural singing abilities and loves to turn the radio up to belt out Journey and Fleetwood Mac in the car.
He owns his own real-estate brokerage and a home flipping company. Although he loves his job and the flexible schedule it provides for our family, he loves his job as a daddy so much more. I am blessed to have such a supportive and loving husband and am excited to see Shaune become a father again!

Stacey – through Shaune’s eyes
I knew after dating Stacey a short time that she was the one for me. Where I see black and white, Stacey sees all the colors that I miss. She compliments me in every way with sensitivity, empathy, and understanding.
Her interests in art, musicals, and live concerts always make for an exciting dating experience.
She is a family planner and makes sure we set time aside to discuss our family’s future, including weekend events and vacations. She loves to create family adventures and is usually the one at the end other end of the camera capturing it all.
She makes every day extra special with a new recipe or craft for the moment. She values her time with Alex during her time off from teaching as a one and only chance to enjoy him growing up.
Stacey chose a career where she could make the most difference which is how she decided to become a teacher. Although she loves her job as a kindergarten teacher, we both look forward to the day when she will take time from her career to be a stay-at-home mom while our children are in their most impressionable years.
A few of Stacey’s favorite things are:
Hobbies: Crafting and Reading
Movie: Pride and Prejudice
Vacation: Family trips to the beach
Things that Make Stacey Happy:
• Being a mom
• Anything crafty (Pinterest projects)
• A good thunderstorm
• Decorating for Christmas
• Reading young adult fantasy novels
• Listening to jazz and music scores for video games
Our Family and Friends
The Big Brother-to-be: Alex
Alex is an outgoing little man who loves to giggle and laugh. He is very curious and loves to explore and figure out how things work. He always wants to help around the house, and uses his toy tool box to “fix” things. When one of his favorite songs comes on the radio, or i-pad, he will stop what he is doing to sing and dance to it.
Alex likes playing in the backyard, digging in the dirt and visiting the zoo. He takes soccer classes and loves to play at the park. He is very social and has many friends at preschool. He is very affectionate and is very excited to become a big brother.
● Singing the classics
(Baby Shark, Five Little Monkey’s and ABCs…)
● Playing with cars and trains
● Coloring and playing with play-doh
● Reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Stacey’s Side of the Family
I am the oldest of two children. My parents live a few minutes down the road and in the same house I grew up in. Nana and papa have been a huge help with Alex and they are extremely excited to have another grandchild to love-on. I have one younger sister, a brother-in-law, and two nieces. I have an exceptionally large extended family.
Growing up I was surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. I have family in all over the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico. We facetime and visit each other often. Holidays are always big events, full of food, games, swimming, and excitement.
Shaune’s Side of the Family
I also come from a large family. I have one brother, three sisters and seven nieces and nephews. My brother resides in Texas and my sisters reside in Indiana. I primarily grew up with his mom, since she and my dad separated when I was a baby. I was adopted by my adoptive father, when I was five. My mother provided the strongest influence in my upbringing.
Later in life, I reunited with my biological father, Duane, his wife Julia, my three sisters, and six new nieces and nephews. Duane passed away a few years ago, but we continue to connect and visit each other around Christmas every year.
Our Home and Our Promises
We Call It Home, Welcome!
We have lived for the last nine years in a family-oriented suburb with award winning school systems. The elementary school is walking distance from our house; along with two playgrounds, a waterpark, beautiful walking trails and stocked ponds to fish in.
The community holds seasonal events, festivals, and concerts and offers a large variety of afterschool and weekend clubs.
Our cozy house has three bedrooms with lots of natural lighting due to the large windows in our living room. We have a medium sized backyard with a small vegetable garden along with strawberry plants and flowers to pick. A playhouse with a slide sits under our shade trees. We are eager to raise another child and add more love and laughter to our home.
