Yolanda and Travis

Welcome!

Welcome! From Southern California. We are Travis and Yolanda. Thank you so much for taking the time to review our profile and for considering us to be prospective adopted parents for your child.

We know that this decision can’t be easy, but want you to know that we admire your courage as you navigate your options. We hope to show you that we are loving individuals excited to be able to start our family through adoption.

How we Met: We met in 2008 while working together in the music industry in Atlanta, GA. We started our journey as close co-workers which then turned into a close friendship that developed into a relationship. During our dating period, we kept our relationship private from our other co-workers. Once they found out that we were dating, they were ecstatic for us. As the years went on, we got engaged in 2011 and got married April 2013. After our marriage, we started an annual travel getaway tradition with our families. We always try to pick a place that’s fun – from cruising in Alaska to ziplining in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

We received a great job opportunity that moved us out to Los Angeles. We have always been career driven and adamant about pursuing our dreams. We hope to instill these values in our future child.

Meet Our Pup: Meet our dog Rocco. He is very playful and spoiled. He loves his blue squeaky toy and his rawhide bones. He also enjoys a ride in the car, walks in the park and taking baths. He is our joy and happiness and keeps us active.

Welcome!

Meet Travis

I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa where I grew up having a big loving family and very close friends. We enjoyed spending a lot of time making our fun playing outside on the farm or tearing up the gravel roads on the 4 wheelers. It also taught me the importance of hard work and being reliable.

I always had big aspirations and dreams of working in the entertainment industry. I was fortunate to study Entertainment Business at Full Sail University.  After college, I packed two suitcases and took a huge risk moving to New York City without an internship or job lined up. I literally sat at LaGuardia Airport for hours wondering if I made the right decision! But I knew I was where I needed to be at that time. There were plenty of ups and downs, but my persistence and determination led to my success.

I am the middle child with two brothers. We were lucky to be very close growing up. They both have growing families (we have 5 nieces and 2 nephews). I was raised by my Grandmother with help from my Great Grandmother who both taught me how to be respectful, have compassion, be patient and generous.

I love traveling, trying new things and experiencing new cultures. From ziplining from the top of a mountain in Alaska to touring museums in Russia, we always try to make time to have fun and enjoy life.

Meet Yolanda

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I am an only child that was raised by my mom and maternal grandparents. My family is very close and every Sunday we would attend church and have family lunch.

I graduated college with a Marketing degree and started my career in the music industry as a coordinator/project manager. I had the pleasure of working with singers such as Usher, Chris Brown, Monica, Goodie Mob, Dallas Austin and Akon. After spending a few years in the music business, I started to pursue my other dream of working in television. I started as a production assistant for several shows, and worked my way up to a coordinator on several shows and movies. I now work as an Art Department Coordinator.

I am a huge baseball fan and support my home team, the Atlanta Braves. In fact, one of my bucket list items is to visit all the US ballparks. So far, I have visited Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field, Coors Field, Oracle Park, Turner Field and SunTrust Park. I have a lot more to go.

I love traveling and seeing the world. We recently took an amazing trip to Russia. We saw so many beautiful museums and landmarks together. I also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. We always try to explore and experience new things and more importantly, have fun!

Our Hobbies & Interests

Meet Our Loved Ones

All of our family and friends are so excited and are eager for us to adopt. Travis is very close to his grandma and brothers. His oldest brother has 3 girls and his younger brother has 2 girls and 2 boys. His grandma lives in Iowa along with both of his brothers’ families. They all live in the same city so it’s convenient when we visit during the holidays. We normally alternate holidays, if we spend Thanksgiving with Yolanda’s family then we spend Christmas with Travis’ family.

Yolanda is extremely close with her mom. They speak on the phone four times a day and Face Time during the weekends.  Yolanda’s other family is very close as well. Her college roommate and her family come every year for a softball tournament in Chino Hills. We always try to have dinner when they are here during the summer months.

We have many visitors when school is out. Travis’s Grandma and brother come often. We took a trip to Disneyland last year and our nieces and nephews loved it. Yolanda’s mom visits California twice a year and loves spending time at the beach and site-seeing in Los Angeles with us.

Five Family Traditions

  • Sunday is family church and brunch day
  • We always alternate our holidays with our families
  • Big family vacations
  • New Year’s Meal consists of fish, collard greens, and black-eyed peas and rice.
  • Bingo at Christmas

Our Heartfelt Thanks: Thank you so much for considering us. We know this is not an easy decision to make, but we promise to you that your child will always be cared for, feel loved, and receive encouragement.
