Hi! We are Carly and Matt. Welcome to our profile! Thank you for the strength, courage, and love for your baby that you've shown by beginning this adoption journey. In the next few pages, you'll get to know a committed couple with a warm home, who wants nothing more than to provide a life of JOY, HAPPINESS, and FUN for your child! To us, adoption is a special journey, that we’d be honored to share with you. We look forward to learning your preference for staying in touch so you will always know your child is safe, cherished, and thriving in our home.
We met in our very first college class and have been inseparable ever since, together now for 17 years! Who knew our little crush would turn into a lifetime partnership? We quickly became best friends and eventually, the loving couple we’re proud to be today. We’ve grown up together and sometimes it’s hard to see where one of us ends and the other begins. After Matt proposed in our favorite place in the mountains of upstate New York, we got married in those same mountains in 2016. We always knew we wanted to have a family, but, as is life, didn’t know what that would entail. We are so excited to be on our adoption journey, and look forward to sharing our love and building new memories with a little kiddo!
Life is a gift, meant to be enjoyed, so staying healthy and active is important to us! Carly likes hiking the Santa Monica mountains and cruising on the bike path (only 20 min. to the beach), while Matt also enjoys more intense exercise like surfing, Crossfit, and running. We love to camp and look forward to spending quality time with our kiddo on road trips to National Parks. Recently, we drove an RV to Yellowstone! To relax, we listen to music or Matt singing with his guitar, practice learning new languages together, cook family recipes, play cards, and binge watch our favorite TV shows.
Carly is the kindest person I’ve ever met. She’s a natural caregiver to humans and animals alike, and happily puts the needs of others before her own. She's a dog person and can't wait to see if our kiddo shares the same love for furry friends! She’s inclusive. Anyone she meets feels seen, heard, and loved, so it's no surprise she has a big, diverse group of friends who turn to her for advice and her great hugs. She has a passion for the environment and is dedicated to leaving the planet a better place for every child who will grow up in it. This led her to found a company whose mission is literally saving the world, helping airports develop sustainable practices. She loves to spoil our many nieces and nephews and will be the most doting, caring, and nurturing mother a child could be blessed to have. She brings out the best in me everyday, and I can't wait to see the wonderful person she helps our child become.
Since she was a child, Carly has had a passion for protecting the environment and was lucky enough to turn this into a successful career! After working with a national engineering firm for 11 years, she began her own company in 2021 where she advises airports on all things sustainability-related. She loves making a difference each day – as well as the flexibility to set her own hours and work from home (or anywhere) that comes with running her own business!
Matt is the definition of a protector. He would do anything for his family or, truly, for anyone in need. He is unendingly loyal, thoughtful, and sensitive. He is the strongest person I know, and I am always happier in Matt’s company. He can turn around a bad day in an instant, cheer up anyone with his humor, and always seems to know exactly what to say when you need it most. When I met Matt almost 17 years ago, I fell in love for many reasons (including his good looks). I lucked out with so much more than I imagined. He may adore animals more than I do, he treats everyone like they’re family, and he does good when no one is looking. Watching Matt interact with our nieces and nephews has been the greatest joy of my life. They absolutely idolize him and have so much fun whenever he is in the room (or outside playing ball or picking flowers). I know he is going to be the best dad in the world and can’t wait to share this journey with him.
Matt is a writer for the show Family Guy! Though he originally worked in Finance, he wanted to truly love going to work each day, and enjoys nothing more than making people laugh. Over a decade ago, he made the brave choice to change careers and the decision paid off. He couldn’t be happier to make a living writing jokes and seeing them on TV each Sunday night! Unlike many jobs, his schedule includes months off each summer for lots of family time between show seasons.
3 years ago we bought our first home in Culver City, California. It is the perfect place to settle down and start a family! It's a small, Los Angeles suburb known for its highly ranked school system, which draws in young couples and their new children, who we hope will one day be our child's friends! We specifically love the area's extensive walking trails, wildlife preserves, bike path to the beach, and vibrant town square (restaurants, theaters, museums, playgrounds, our favorite book store, and the best ice cream we've had in California). Our community also has a number of pools where our kiddo will learn to swim and stay cool in the summer. While there's so much right in our backyard, we also enjoy being only a short drive from ski mountains, the Joshua Tree desert (where Matt ran his first half-marathon), Disneyland, Universal Studios (very excited to show our kiddo The Wizarding World of Harry Potter), and Dodger Stadium. We love it here and can't wait to see it all through our child’s eyes!
We have a big, supportive family who cannot wait to welcome a new member! Our child will be loved/spoiled by 4 grandparents, 5 uncles, 6 aunts, and best of all, 13 YOUNG COUSINS (5 boys and 7 girls, under 11 y.o.)! Though they live on the east coast, it’s important to us to stay close with loved ones, so we regularly Facetime and take extended trips to visit. including most of our nieces and nephews, lives within five-minutes of each other in the Boston suburbs, which makes for chaotic but fun family barbecues! Matt’s a favorite in the backyard where the kiddos love playing wiffle ball and soccer with their uncle. He recently brought his nephews to their first Red Sox game where two of them caught a foul ball! Carly's family is in upstate New York, where we spend weeks at a time at the family lake house. Her dad can’t wait to take his new grandchild out on the boat, and our nieces are excited to teach their new cousin how to make double-chocolate s’mores! Carly’s parents visit California frequently, and look forward to bonding with our kiddo on both coasts! P.S. Carly’s adopted cousins are just an hour away!
We’re lucky to have been raised with similar values, and look forward to passing them along to our child. Family is everything to us, and our child will know that no matter what, he/she will always be loved and we are here for them. We will make sure they know they are cherished and safe. We will share the best of each of us and work every day to provide him/her with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to tackle the world. We will teach him/her, by example, to be kind to everyone they meet — to give selflessly and expect nothing in return. We will empower them to chase their dreams, as we both did, and to never settle in life. Anything they want to achieve is within their reach with the right amount of hard work, determination, and focus. We’ll encourage them to collect memories, not material things, and to appreciate the value of a good friendship. We will make them laugh (even if they’re laughing at us). We will end every day with “I love you” -- one of our most important family traditions. And we will surround them with the most supportive family a child could hope for.
Thank you so much for considering us! We’re sure you have some unanswered questions and we’d love to connect and answer them. But for now, what we promise you is this: we will unconditionally love your child. And we will make sure they know how brave their birth mom is. Depending on your preferences, we would love the opportunity to share updates and build memories with you. We know that the more love a child has, the better, and hope one day they’ll even have siblings who love them as much as we do. However you move forward, we wish the best for your adoption journey!
