We’re a fun, adventurous, and family-centered couple who loves making memories; whether that’s cooking together, exploring new places, or simply enjoying everyday moments that make us laugh. Our hope is to build a home filled with love, kindness, and curiosity. We deeply respect the strength and generosity it takes to choose a family for your child, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We are so excited about choosing adoption because having a family has been a dream of ours for nearly eight years.

Our path here hasn’t been simple and has included a long journey through infertility. While we are not able to have children biologically, we truly believe that our hearts were meant to love a child through adoption. We have so much love to give and are eager to provide a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled home for a baby. As teachers, we spend our days caring for and loving other people’s children, and we know firsthand that family is built through love, commitment, and presence; not just biology.

Our hearts are full and ready to welcome a child with endless love, support, and devotion; and we are looking forward to doing so through adoption.

We met on-line and connected quickly through our shared values, love of family, and passion for teaching. One thing we love about being teachers is the time it gives us together; our summers are open for adventures like traveling, camping, beach days, and simple hikes. We also cherish the extra time off around Christmas, which lets us slow down and focus on family and traditions like driving around to see lights while snacking on homemade Chex Mix. While we enjoy getting out and exploring, we’re just as happy at home reading, doing puzzles, hosting game nights or enjoying cozy movie nights with popcorn and chocolate. Our home has become the go-to gathering place for family and friends; a space where everyone feels welcome. Our home is filled with love and laughter; we’re pretty sarcastic, definitely goofy, and always finding joy in not taking life too seriously.

One of my greatest dreams is to become a mother. Loving, nurturing, and encouraging children comes naturally to me, and I know I would be a patient, supportive, and devoted parent. As a teacher and high school dance team coach, I already spend my time helping children feel seen, safe, and confident; qualities I hope to bring into my own family one day. I believe life should be filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments. I am thankful for all life’s lessons and deeply committed to the people I love. I’m high‑energy, a little cheesy, and love creating joyful experiences, whether that’s dancing around the house or making up songs for my pets. I have a kind, compassionate heart, and a strong sense of responsibility to protect and support those I care about. I would feel incredibly honored and grateful to provide a child with a nurturing home.

One of my friends, Erin, says, “Being friends with Colette is truly a blessing. I can’t think of anyone who puts more care and intention into everything she does.” These words show how I try to live my life every day.

Colette is absolutely my Princess Leia to my Han Solo. She’s passionate, strong‑willed, and never afraid to take on the world to make tomorrow a little brighter. Whether she’s advocating for her students as a teacher, cheering on athletes as a coach, or supporting fellow teachers as a mentor, she shows up with her whole heart. She shines as a natural leader; always standing up for others and championing what’s right. I love her fire, her compassion, and the ideals she lives by, even when I see how much effort it takes and the bruises she sometimes collects along the way.

That’s when I get to swoop in; Han Solo style; to remind her she doesn’t have to carry it all alone. We balance each other, make each other stronger, and together we’re capable of so much more than we are on our own. We share a clear vision for the future, and taking the step into raising a child together feels like the most exciting next chapter of our story.

Not every stereotype about a high school math teacher fits me—but I’ll admit I check a few boxes. I love sci-fi and fantasy, from Star Wars to Dungeons & Dragons. When I’m not running student clubs, I’m usually playing games with friends, in person or online. I was definitely the nerdy kid who did all his homework, and these days I embrace that label and love inviting others to join in the fun. At my core, I believe in nurturing new light in the world—that’s not just my job, it’s who I am. As a teacher, I see myself as a mason, helping build the next block for the many students who walk into my classroom and leave a step closer to who they’re meant to be. Supporting growth, putting in the work, and feeling that sense of “job well done” is deeply meaningful to me.

The light I’m most looking forward to nurturing, though, is our future child. I want to build the very first block, be there for the first step, and cherish, love, and grow alongside you through life’s most important journey. I’m a teacher at heart, and always a student of life.

Chris has truly been my biggest supporter and my steady rock. He’s always the first to cheer me on with a “good job” or a “way to go,” and his calm, level‑headed nature brings so much balance to our lives. He also has a special talent for being goofy and making me laugh; sometimes very intentionally, and sometimes without even trying; and that joy fills our home. Chris will be the kind of dad who is all‑in: doting, caring, and always ready to help. He’ll be the hands‑on parent who gets down on the floor to build block towers, teaches life skills like flying a kite or fixing things around the house, and turns everyday moments into meaningful memories.

Helping others is something that genuinely brings him joy, and that same love and compassion will guide how we raise a child together. I have no doubt that Chris will pour his whole heart into parenting right alongside me.

We love doing life as a team and making the most of time together; whether that’s planning adventures or being spontaneous. We enjoy staying busy, making memories, but also enjoy soaking up cozy days at home. We share many hobbies and can’t wait to experience them all through the eyes of a kiddo one day.

Games are a big favorite around here, from hosting game nights with friends and family (and their kiddos!) including board games, card games, and lawn games outside. Puzzles are also a hit; especially when Colette sneakily hides the last piece so Chris doesn’t claim victory. Being cozy on the couch with a book or for movie night with cups of hot cocoa is a favorite winter activity.

We love spending time outdoors, whether it’s camping with cousins and their kids, gardening, going on walks or day hikes, playing in the snow, a day in a boat and swimming at the lake, or heading to the ocean to fly kites and relax in the sand.

Family means a lot to us; like taking our cousins’ kids trick‑or‑treating or traveling with loved ones, including trips to Disneyland with family friends and their daughter. Family traditions and holidays are especially important to us; we love gathering together, celebrating milestones, and creating meaningful memories year after year.

We also love traveling, and dream of continuing our adventures as a family, from big bucket‑list trips to simple, joy‑filled moments close to home. We have often said to each other, we can’t wait to experience this with our own kid one day.

We’re very settled and happy in our home, and we chose it with family life in mind; a place that could truly grow with us. Our neighborhood is safe and welcoming, with lots of green space to play and a beautiful, peaceful view of Mt. Rainier. Our yard has lots of room for kids to have fun, with space for things like a play set, trampoline, and a little pool for sunny days. Inside our home, we have a nursery lovingly set up in hopeful anticipation of the baby we dream of welcoming.

Our favorite spot in our home is the large family room that opens to the kitchen, where we relax, gather, and spend time together. Kids especially love our looped hallway, which turns into the perfect track for running laps or playing hide‑and‑seek; giggles to follow.

We also love living in a town that focuses on families and traditions, with community events like holiday celebrations, parades, and farmers markets. Surrounded by nature, parks, water (lakes, oceans, and rivers) and all four seasons, it’s a wonderful place to grow up. As teachers we have the flexibility to send our child to either school district we work at. Our home is full of warmth and love.

We are incredibly grateful for the many friends and family members in our lives. They have been our biggest supporters throughout our journey to grow our family and in life. We truly believe in surrounding ourselves with people who offer encouragement, positivity, and genuine support.

To us, family isn’t just about biology; it’s about the people you choose and keep close. We’re so lucky to have many friends who have become family, including close friends whose kids feel like our own and lovingly call us Auntie Coco and Uncle Chris. Our future child already has so many people ready to love, spoil, and dote on them.

We love spending holidays with our families and look forward to creating special traditions together. We also love to travel, camp, and spend our weekends with friends and family, whether that’s gathering around a campfire, going on little adventures, or simply enjoying time together in the backyard.

We are very close to Colette’s family, including her mom, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins, so we spend a lot of time with them. Chris’ family, including his mom, brother, and sister and their kids, live in another state, but we stay connected and catch up frequently.
We believe that life is better with a tribe of friends and family surrounding you. They bring extra encouragement, extra love, and make life a little more fun.

We currently have two and a half pets; and yes, that half absolutely counts. The “half” is an aquatic snail who is massive and strange so we named him Weird Al. Our other very beloved pets are two adorable one‑year‑old kittens, Maverick and Goose. They are spoiled and completely aware of it. The kittens love interacting with the kids in our lives and soak up all the extra attention. We love our pets and the energy, laughter, and chaos they bring into our home. They’re always good for a cuddle, a laugh, and a little daily mischief.

We were both raised in families that believed deeply in showing up for one another, and in the strength that comes from a close, supportive family. Those values are incredibly important to us, and we’re excited to pass them on to our future child. Along with teaching the big life lessons, we want to soak up the everyday moments too; sitting on the floor building Legos, putting a kite together and flying it, cheering from the sidelines at swim lessons, dance classes, or little league games. We truly want to be our future child’s biggest fan. We know life comes with plenty of lessons, challenges, and growing pains, and we’re committed to handling them with patience, understanding, and guidance. We’ll know when to be firm, when to be gentle, when to laugh, and when to simply listen. Most of all, we want our future child to always know that we are a safe place; a constant source of love, support, and comfort.

We promise to parent with compassion, patience, and love, while honoring our future child’s unique story every step of the way.
