Howdy! We are Gabe and Wyatt from Worcester, Massachusetts. We want you to know how much respect and admiration we have for your courage and love as you consider adoption. We can only imagine how important this decision is for you, and we’re honored to share a little about ourselves in the hopes of building a connection. Our home is a place of warmth, laughter, and a deep commitment to supporting one another. We believe in creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive. We can’t wait to provide a child with endless love, encouragement, and opportunities to grow.

As two loving and committed partners, we’ve always dreamed of becoming dads and building a family together. We’re excited to meet you and to create a home where a child can grow up feeling supported, celebrated, and safe. We met in college and quickly became close friends - two pals who liked goofing around, teasing each other, and getting into trouble. Neither of us really realized we liked men and so we built this great friendship bond without thinking about anything more. Eventually things started to click into place for us. We started dating one fateful night in Providence once Wyatt worked up the courage to ask Gabe out after they'd been kicked out of a concert (remember that part about getting into trouble?). Gabe proposed 7 years later over a champagne breakfast just as that big pandemic was rolling around. Prior to that, our relationship endured through several years of long-distance and remains strong through open communication and not taking ourselves too seriously. Plus, our cats make for great marriage counselors.

Gabe loves to cook. He’s got his go-to-meals but he likes to keep the menu fresh - usually trying to recreate something awesome from some place we just went out to eat. He also loves board games. If he could pick an ideal evening to spend with family or friends, it’s game night every time. When the weather is warmer, it's all about backyard grilling and yard games. Gabe is excited about sharing his love of fun and games with his kid and chasing after the frisbee when they inevitably fling it over the fence. Wyatt loves creating a home; from interior design and furniture collecting to gardening, to major projects and renovations. He has loved working on the new house and can't wait to raise his family in it. He also delights in so-bad-it's-good movies, hosting friends, and rigorously ranking all the restaurants in his area. Other things we enjoy together are: hitting the slopes skiing or snowboarding in the winter. We like a good nature walk. We’re true-Rhode Island beach bums (Gabe is the wave surfer and Wyatt the sun napper). While Gabe can have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it, we do love antique shopping and nosing through old furniture stores. In so many ways, we see having a child as an ultimate enhancer to many of things we love to do.

G Plum (Gabriel Plummer) is a playable character in the real world. His default appearance is based on the “classic middle-child lovable goofball” stereotype, and his voice was provided by a jolly Irishman. Originally announced in 1992 alongside other characters such as W Dels, he has seen increasing play-rates since his release, and is currently ranked S tier in competitive play. G Plum’s stable mental game makes him a flexible pick into chaotic match-ups, and his high base huggability stat allows him to stall even the most guarded opponents. Moreover, his signature ability “lovable in-laws”, makes him an attractive pick for players with less normal-family experience. Despite his numerous strengths, GP does suffer from mediocre fashion stats, is subject to trip hazards, and has higher lag time during medical emergencies than the majority of the cast. Overall, G Plum is a top tier pick and has boasted excellent tournament results in the game of life.

What stood out to me about Wyatt was his humor. It was just so…odd. Wyatt is a guy who delights in the absurd. Someone who relishes nonsense and who revels in chaos. As someone who loves to laugh, finding him felt like discovering a kindred spirit... but from another universe, and his goofiness was contagious. Even amid the silliness, Wyatt’s sharp mind is impossible to miss. He brings such an intensity and rigor to his work whether it’s his day job serving patients or his weekend warrior role of home improvement. When Wyatt wants to understand something, he throws himself completely into the study of it. Some people want a garden and they go one day to pick out some flowers. Wyatt sinks his teeth into hours of instructional videos on garden design, fills a shelf with gardening books, identifies every greenhouse within 20 miles, and has a landscaping strategic plan in place mere months after buying our house.

For work, Wyatt is a hospital physician, which means his time is freeing up now that he is done with the grueling schooling. It’s common for him to work 7 days and then have 7 days completely off. Gabe is an organizational psychologist who works from home for a leadership consulting firm and has his own management consulting engagements on the side. He enjoys having control of his schedule and having the flexibility to tend to home issues throughout the day.

We live in Worcester, Massachusetts, which is technically the second largest city in New England, but it often feels more like a town. Instead of big city sportsdom, we have lovable minor leaguers (Woosox and Railers) who play downtown. Worcester has it’s fair share of fancy eating but it’s especially known for its diners. The toughest decision on a Sunday morning is - do we want stuffed nutella french toast from Ms. Woos or greasy corn beef hash from Boulevard, or fancy brunch at Alteas? Wachusett mountain is nearby, which is where we'll often take a day ski trip. The beach is within shouting distance too. In the Summer, there's some sort of food/music/craft festival happening every weekend at one of the nearby parks where one of our favorite activities is observing the kooky kid chaos. We live in a mid-size neighborhood with a range of ages and backgrounds, so there’s plenty of young kids. We live right around a lot of the schools - to the point that we fear the 2pm school traffic more than rush hour.

Cats are awesome and we have two great ones, Southpaw and Lady Opal Nightstorm. However, they’ve grown complacent and confident with their run of the house. It’s time for a small human to come rock their world!

We don’t take ourselves too seriously—but we take care of each other seriously well. Gabe has a younger sister and an older brother and Wyatt has a younger brother. As of now, we don’t have nieces or nephews, but our siblings are at the stage of family planning like us, so the community is poised to grow! Wyatt and his brother grew up best friends and often seem to speak their own language when they’re together. Wyatt’s dad passed away but his mom and step mom both live in Rhode Island and his mom in particular is begging for grandchildren. She is an artist, has run a ceramics company, is a prolific painter, and has illustrated children’s books. She also is where Wyatt gets his green thumb. We see grandma/grandchild finger paint sessions in the future.

Gabe’s brother is the one who sparked Gabe’s love of games. He lives in Michigan, so one of them will go out to visit the other at least a few times a year. His sister lives an hour away in Boston and is one of Gabe’s closest confidants. They’ve recently enjoyed back to back seasons playing dodge ball on the same team. Gabe’s parents live in Rhode Island and are regularly hosting family cookouts. Gabe’s dad works as a school psychologist (and it shows) and his mom ran a substance abuse prevention non-profit until she recently retired. Having recently bought our home, we are looking forward to being a gathering place where our families can come together.

Words we have dreamed to express. We believe our job as parents is to create a solid foundation for resilience within the family. A child’s family should act as their firm foothold on this earth, the safe, comfortable, supportive place where they will always be known, valued and appreciated. This makes the twisting and turning of life - responsibilities added, leaving friends and friends leaving, living adjustments, doubts and uncertainties, and whatever loss they may encounter along the way - all more bearable, because they will always know and feel that they have a firm foothold with us. Even when they are not actively leaning back into it, the family is a boundless source of strength and the foundation of resilience as they endeavor on. We are eager to share all of our passions and interests with our child, but what excites us most is discovering everything they will grow to love and care about. A child's unique personality and niche interests are the type of enrichment we've been craving. We don't know what they'll be and we can't wait.
