We are Neha and Amit from San Francisco, California.

While we can only imagine the difficulty in choosing what is best for your child, should you choose us as adoptive parents we promise to support you in every part of your adoption journey and look forward to learning about you and what you hope for your child’s future.

After several failed attempts to have a child naturally and through IVF, we are very hopeful to be blessed with a baby through adoption. We’ve been very lucky to have so many children around us because of our family and friends. We look forward to sharing love, friendship, and the joys of life with our own child with your blessing.

Amit’s sister and I were co-workers and friends first. On a fateful day we met during our travel for her pre-wedding celebration road trip. We each lived in a different states in India (Neha in Mumbai and Amit in Bangalore) and managed to maintain our long distance relationship for 3 years through numerous flights.

Finally, Amit proposed marriage with a ring, over a long drive. He had his friends surprise me where they quietly drove their car in front of us till they stopped, opened their trunk in which they had a big banner that said ‘Neha, Will you marry me?”. It was an instant "Yes".

Six months of preparations and we had a big fat Indian wedding with friends and family over 5 days in my hometown up in the mountains of north India. There was singing, dancing, late nights, and feasts that brought our families and friends together in the most memorable way.

A few years after we were married, we moved to the United States to study at UC Berkeley. We loved the country, the people and the environment and decided to make a life and our home in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Childhood: I grew up in India with my parents, younger sister, and lots of cousins in my neighborhood. My father was a businessman, while my mother is a doctor of alternate medicine. As a child I was a little introverted, but I loved to play cricket and ping pong after school with my cousins. For vacations, my parents would take my sister and I on wonderful trips and visit new places. I lost my father early in life which made me even closer to my mother.

Education: I graduated from Delhi University and received my master’s in finance and business. I became a Certified Public Account by the time I was 21 years old!

Career: I am currently working as the Senior Director of Accounting for a large Software company in San Francisco. I work from home and am lucky to have the flexibility to be a present parent and care for our future child anytime. I often pick up my nephew and niece from school and take them for their after school classes. Even when my nephew is not feeling well, he asks for me to come over and care for him.

Amit is the most supportive partner and future daddy anyone could ever hope for. He is always liked and admired not only by elders but also all the kids in our family and community. He treats everyone with respect, compassion and remains balanced in all circumstances. We have always discussed and looked forward to growing our family and raising children together.

Childhood: My father is a veteran from the Indian Navy and my mother is a kindergarten teacher. Due to my father’s profession my family moved every 2-3 years. Adapting to new cities, new schools, a new home and new friends not only made us flexible but also taught us how to have fun with change. Vacations were typically spent at our grandparent’s home climbing trees, picking fruits, trekking, skating and playing board games with my brother and cousins. I always admired my mother for being a working mom and balancing her home and relationships equally well.

Education: I really enjoyed my school life through dancing, debates and sports. I was a school prefect and the band major for 2 years in high school. I graduated from Mumbai University with a degree in business and I received my master’s degree from UC Berkeley in marketing and project management.

Career: I am currently working as a product manager with a leading bank in San Francisco. I have a lot of flexibility from work and will have the ability to be available for our future child while growing up as its so important to us and for them.

Neha is the most caring, nurturing, and giving person I know. Her confidence, creativity and resiliency is admirable. She always brings people together and is known in our circle for being a great host and party planner. I know she will make an incredible mother just from watching how she cares for and supports our nephew and niece as they are growing up.

We believe "it takes a village to raise a child". We feel lucky that we live a few minutes away from Amit’s sister, brother-in-law, 2-year-old nephew and 11-year-old niece, as well as Neha’s brother and sister-in-law. Our parents visit often from India and have stayed for extended periods of time to also offer support with our nephew and niece growing up. They all are so excited to welcome another child into our family and are very supportive of our adoption journey.

The last few years have brought us even closer. As stressful as life could have been during the time of lockdown, it brought us a lot of joy with the birth of our nephew who we helped raise while we lived together with Amit’s sister's family.

Most of our friendships go a long way back, some for more than 15 years. We have a lot of friends that are more like family that live within 20 minutes from our home. We get together on weekends and holidays where we eat, travel, picnic, and celebrate festivals together.

We live in a very family friendly neighborhood with beautiful parks, walking trails, a large library, a bustling downtown and excellent schools. Our neighbors come from diverse backgrounds and are very warm and welcoming. Our family and childhood friends that live a few minutes away from our home & are excited to help us with everything we could need as new parents, including childcare.

We share our home with our sweetheart golden doodle, "Dakoo". He loves children, is very gentle and friendly with them. Dakoo has grown up with our little nephew Om and loves to race with him.
