Since the very beginning of our relationship, we have wanted to adopt a child, and knew that adoption would always be our path towards growing our family. We are a fun, caring family and are fortunate to be calling the beautiful Pacific Northwest home for the last 6 years. We enjoy walking our dog, Baloo, and visiting all the great parks around us. We are surrounded by a close knit community and love spending time with our family and friends. Family means everything to us and we can't wait to add another little one to our family! We are excited to meet you and hope you enjoy getting to know us!

We have known each other for over 20 years. We first met in India in 2000, at a coaching class, and became friends. Even though we didn't see each other in person after 2002, we always stayed in touch through all the years, and our connection grew when we both moved to the US for graduate school, Raj to California and Rupam to New Jersey.

Finally, after almost a decade, we met in person at Peet’s coffee shop in Boston in 2012. We posted a picture of our meetup on Facebook, and it blew up! Everyone thought we were a couple. They sure did know more than we did... because occasional chats soon turned into daily messages and video calls, and frequent meetups. And about a year later, we were getting married!

We got married in July 2013 in Boston, and had a big traditional celebration in India with our extended family in November 2013. Our years of friendship provided the strong foundation for a healthy marriage and a happy family.

I grew up in India, in a military family, so we moved all over the country during my childhood. I learned to quickly adapt and embrace the new things around me. It taught me to enjoy and respect the diversity all around me.

I am an Engineer by education and a Program Product Manager by profession. I work for a big tech company that gives me the flexibility to work from home and maintain a great work life balance. My teammates and I frequently have kiddos join meetings and “pretend work” along with us.

My name is Rajesh, and I go by Raj. I also grew up in India. Being an only child, I am close with my parents and have had their constant support. This shaped the parent I am today, dedicated to supporting my children's goals and dreams.

I am a Software Engineer by education and profession. I work for a company that makes audio speakers and I love that my job incorporates my passion for music at work. Probably why I have been with the company for almost 10 years. The flexibility to work remotely and balance my personal life is likely another good reason.

Hi! I am Ruana and my friends call me RuRu. I was born in 2020. I am very playful (and often pretend I am a dinosaur!) I love being outdoors. I like going to my neighborhood playground. I enjoy bike rides especially during the summer, or going on hikes. I even insist we have our dinner outside on the deck and enjoy the warm weather.

I can't wait to be a BIG SISTER! I call myself a "big girl" now and always ask Mommy & Papa
about the "little baby".

We have been fortunate to be able to travel to many places in the US, from the East Coast to the West Coast and have lived in New Jersey, California, Massachusetts and now Washington (the state).

We love traveling and have explored many countries and Norway and Singapore are our current two favorites. This has given us a chance to see new places, learn about other cultures, meet people from different backgrounds, and try new foods!

We can't wait to show the world to the little one and take them on all our adventures!

Fun Fact: We love collecting souvenirs from all the places we travel to and are running out of space on the fridge for magnets!

Our home is a bright, spacious and cozy 4-bedroom bungalow in a safe suburb of Seattle, Washington.

We have a great yard and a spacious deck where we enjoy playing with our dog, having BBQs with friends, or just having s’more nights as a family.

We are surrounded by caring neighbors, and our neighborhood is diverse and family-oriented with great schools within walking distance. There are always kids outside riding bikes, drawing on the sidewalks with chalk, or playing on water slides during hot summer days.
We also live right next to a wooded park with hiking and biking trails and several playgrounds for the kiddos.

Most days, you will find us hiking, biking, or exploring the outdoors with family and friends.

Meet Baloo, our sweet Bernedoodle (Bernese mountain dog & poodle mix), aka Teddy Bear (yes, he will respond to that nick name too!) He is 3 years old and we have had him since he was a 9 week old puppy. Baloo is a big fluff ball of pure love who is very affectionate and loves to cuddle.

His favorite hobbies include going on walks with us and playing fetch in the backyard. Baloo is great with kids - he is so patient & gentle (and will even let you put a Santa hat on him!) He will be a great protector, playmate and snuggle buddy for our new little one :)

Rupam comes from a very loving and supportive family. Rupam’s elder sister has 3 children (12- year old boy & girl twins and an 8 year-old girl). Rupam's mother adores her grandchildren and can't wait to spoil another grandchild! Rupam has been involved in her nieces’ and nephew’s upbringing since their birth.
They all live in California, so we try to see each other often, usually on the kids' birthdays, or during festivals. While they all miss grandpa, they know he is watching over them and is in peace to see the family stand together and care for each other. Rupam also has a large extended family in India and US, including 5 aunts, 4 uncles and 18 cousins! We remain in touch with all of them and get together when possible.

Rupam's Favorite Childhood Memory:
"Growing up, I was very fond of my mom’s cooking. I would just name a random cuisine and she would spin up delicious dishes from all over the world from her cookbook. I look forward to making delicious recipes with my kids, just like their Grandma did with me."

Raj comes from a small, close-knit family. He is an only child and is very close with his parents. His parents live in India and they video chat with each other every weekend, and also see them as often as we can. They love being grandparents!

Raj also has his extended family in the US, including aunts, uncles and several cousins in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We stay in touch with them and see them for family reunions and get-togethers. They are all excited to welcome another little one to the family!

Raj's Favorite Childhood Memory:
"Growing up my father would have the radio on all day, which is why I enjoy music so much. I love playing musical instruments and hope to entertain my kids with my 'fun' musical creations."

We were both raised in Hindu families who celebrated all festivals across all religions with equal zest (including Christmas - one of our favorites!)

• During Diwali (the "festival of lights" symbolizing triumph of light over darkness) - we decorate the house with lots of lights, wear traditional clothing, and celebrate with friends and family.

• For Thanksgiving every year - we share the meal with friends and practice gratitude for all the blessings surrounding us.

• On our Birthdays - we like to travel somewhere fun and explore new places.

• Cinco de Mayo - we cook a traditional meal, enjoy the music to celebrate the day - 6 years running!

We think of ourselves as GLOBAL CITIZENS - experiencing cultures and people from different parts of the world. We speak Hindi and English at home, and you can hear a blend of accents from various countries, regions. We strive to live by these values and hope to raise our kids with the same values.

We are blessed to have a very strong support system. We have a group of dear friends that we have known for decades and consider family. All of our friends are like aunts and uncles to our daughter, and many of them also have children.

Our friends come from many different regions, cultures and backgrounds across the world. We have learned a great deal through many of their life experiences. They can't wait to welcome another little member to our community!
