Hello! We are Cindy & Seamus from Granite Bay, California. We have three wonderful and unique children who bring indescribable joy into our life. Every day is full of laughs, warm hugs, and “I love you.” And all our hearts are ready to welcome another child into our family!

We enjoy traveling, outdoor activities and quality time at home. Whatever we are doing and wherever we are, our best memories are those we spend together as a family. We wish you a full heart and peaceful mind as you are guided in your decision for your child, and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

We are incredibly grateful that adoption will give us the opportunity to grow our family. From before we married, we both understood that were called to adopt. We recognize that we have been blessed in our lives, and we want to share those blessings with your child. If chosen as adoptive parents, we promise that your child will be welcomed into our family with open arms. They will be loved and cared for like every other member of our family.

We have been married for over ten years. We met while we were both working at a small consulting firm where long hours and overnighters were not uncommon. We shared many late nights in the office working, laughing, playing fantasy football, and inventing silly games to blow off some steam during our breaks. That is how we started off – as friends. Several years later, we started spending more time together, and our relationship evolved into something deeper. We are so grateful that we are best friends in this wonderful life! Most of our time these days is spent together with the children as a family. But we also understand the importance spending time together one-on-one to nurture a strong relationship. We have a weekly ‘date night’ when we usually go out to dinner, or sometimes we just sit on the couch and turn on a movie. We simply use the time to just be with each other.

We are a family who enjoys our time at home just as much as special trips and vacations. Hawaii is a favorite destination for our family – we love playing in the warm water, riding the waves, and building sandcastles. We also enjoy camping and weekend getaways to the coast or the mountains. The best vacations are those we spend with family, regardless of destination.

Trips are fabulous, but we also try to make the most of our time together at home. We have family movie nights almost every week, and love discovering new family games, like Unstable Unicorns. Summer swim days followed by popsicles are always great memories for our family too!

Our family loves an adventure! Someday, we want to spend the whole summer on a road trip around the country, visiting National Parks and famous sites. We will camp, hike, and explore! Until then, we have tons of favorite places that we want to visit again, and a whole bunch of new ones to discover.

I am lucky to be a stay-at-home mom. I get to be the one who makes sure the kids hear “I love you” at drop-off, and the first one to hear about their days at pick-up. Being a mom is the most rewarding and fulfilling job around!

I confess that I absolutely love food! I enjoy cooking and baking for special celebrations – from big Thanksgiving meals to treats for the kids’ classroom parties (like rainbow cupcakes or Halloween vampire donuts). I also really enjoy traveling, and tend to choose vacation destinations where we can enjoy the outdoors.

Each of my parents immigrated to the United States before most of their siblings. They worked tirelessly to bring their families here and support them. Their hard work and commitment influenced the values I instill in our children. My friends would describe me as dynamic, dependable, and organized. They know that that they can count on me in difficult times, and I will always be there to listen.

Cindy is a fantastic mother – she makes me want to be a better husband and father. She puts others first every single day, without fail. She helps the kids with homework and makes sure we get to school, appointments, and sports practices with everything we need. And she does this all with a loving, playful attitude. You’ll often find her with the kids doing silly dances, playing on the floor, or cuddling on the couch. Any child would be blessed with her as their mother.

When my mom was in the hospital following her stroke, I called Cindy with an update of the long road to recovery. She didn’t flinch, and responded, “Alright. We’ll do whatever we need to do. Tell me, what do you need?” I spent several weeks in the hospital with my mom, while Cindy had the kids do art projects for Grandma, helped me research recovery options, and reorganized the guest room for my mom to move in with us. This is par for the course with her.

I’ve been blessed to have had a lot of success professionally. I own a business consulting firm that is family friendly and supportive. We have financial security, which has allowed me to ramp down the time I spend at work to dedicate more time with family. I have a lot of flexibility and plan to take time off following the adoption to bond with our child.

My family is the thing that brings me the most joy and pride. I enjoy sports, and I love to compete and challenge myself. I enjoy coaching our kids and attending their games, dance performances, and plays. I’m committed to fitness to stay healthy and act as a role model for the children. My favorite activities include travel and anything outdoors, preferably with the whole family. I think my friends would say I’m reliable, fun, competitive, and principled. They know I’m always there when they need me, especially when times get tough.

Seamus is brilliant, hard-working, hilarious, and adventurous. He is smart and quick-witted, though he never shies away from corny ‘dad jokes’ – like when we saw a wildebeest on safari in Kenya, he said, “Why the long face?” He makes our entire family feel loved, safe, and truly happy.

My husband is an amazing dad! Quarantining during the pandemic could have been a real drag for our kids, but Seamus decided to build them a treehouse in our backyard. Lots of YouTube videos, several lumber deliveries, an assortment of new tools, and a few extra holes in our backyard later, we now have our family fort!

Our kids simply adore their dad. Seamus is very intentional in his words with them… he focuses on positive language and encouragement. And of course, there is no shortage of shenanigans when Dad is around – he’s been known to put on an animal costume and sneak up on our kids when they least expect it!

We have a 5-bedroom home in Northern California. Our three children share one room, and they love it! We have a room open and ready for our future baby... until he or she is ready to move in with the older siblings. When we chose our house, we wanted to make sure that we had an extra bedroom for visits from family and friends. We also chose a home with a big backyard to give the kids plenty of space to run around, get dirty, and stay active. We have a gated pool, which gets plenty of use during warmer months. We also have a treehouse, ninja line, rope swing, and saucer swing.

It’s a wonderfully warm and inviting family home and neighborhood! We live in a safe suburban/country area, with a small park and playground within walking distance. We make plenty of visits to the nearby lake, just a 5-minute drive from the house. A few miles farther are beautiful hikes along a river. We are also just 1.5 hours away from snowy mountains in one direction and the beautiful ocean in the other direction. On top of that, miniature golf, a water park, movie theaters, performing arts theaters, and NBA sports games are all just a short drive away.

James (age 10) is kind, dependable, imaginative, and honest. Several parents have told me at various times that their children think he is the nicest boy in the class. He enjoys creating things (e.g., drawing, LEGOs, engineering), biking, swimming, and soccer. He takes his role of big brother very seriously and does his very best to lead by example. Fun Fact: James is on a daily swimming streak of nearly 1,000 days in a row!

Grace (age 8) is compassionate, friendly, generous, and nurturing. At any gathering with new people, she is always the first to make a new friend. She enjoys reading, music, roller skating, swimming, and soccer. She is remarkably empathetic for her age, and always has a hug or listening ear for any friends that are having bad days. Fun Fact: Grace loves performing and has already been in a stage production at one of the local theatres!

Reagan (age 5) is adventurous, affectionate, curious, and funny. She is one tough cookie – if she falls or gets hurt, she often just lets out one big, frustrated ‘warrior cry’ then pops up and keeps playing. She enjoys riding her scooter, swimming, cuddling with Mom, and wrestling with Dad. Fun Fact: Reagan has beaten our whole family several times in a card game called Unstable Unicorns – she’s quite a card shark for a 5-year-old!

Our Catholic faith is the foundation of our family. We pray as a family each night before bedtime. We explain our faith to our children, and we come home and live those truths in our own lives. We are strong supporters of a Catholic school education. We believe Catholic schools provide a well-rounded environment including academic, physical, social, and spiritual education consistent with our core family values. We send our children to a private Catholic school, and plan to continue on this path for all of our children.

Our extended families are a big part of our life, even though some may live far away.

Seamus’ mother lives with us, and Cindy’s parents have extended stays with us 2-3 times per year. We also alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas with each side of our family. And in between visits, we FaceTime with our extended family almost every day. We try to do getaways with both sides of the family – the more the merrier!

We have TONS of aunts, uncles and cousins, and most of them live in our home state of California! We are very close, and they are all incredibly supportive of and excited with our decision to adopt.

Our child will have so many open arms welcoming him or her into our family!

We, of course, want our kids to grow up to be happy and successful. We want them to find joy, peace, gratitude and love in all that they do and all that they are. But the most important thing is that they live a life of strong character and love for God.

We both grew up knowing without a doubt that our parents loved us deeply. That gave us each an invaluable sense of confidence, security and peace. We make this a priority in our family as well.

If chosen as adoptive parents, we promise that your child will be welcomed into our family with open arms. Our promise to you is to honor you and how your decision to place your child is the ultimate demonstration of your love for your child. We will share their heritage and learn about your culture as a family. We would welcome staying in contact if you are comfortable with that – sharing pictures and news of milestones. That said, we would respect your decision should you choose to have a closed adoption.
