Hello! We are Katelyn & Mark from California. We have a three year old son, James that we adopted in 2019. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!
We are so grateful & respectful of your difficult decision to place your child for adoption. We are entirely committed to supporting you with care, compassion and honesty through this process. We look forward to continue building our family through adoption and sharing our lives with your child. We wish you comfort through this process and hope you enjoy getting to know us!
We originally met in High School through a school club. We went to different schools but always saw each other through school functions and mutual friends. When Mark moved home from San Diego, Katelyn reached out to him and that’s where our true love story began. We got married in May of 2015 in our hometown. We recently moved out to Mark’s family ranch where he farms rice, walnuts and almonds. We love where we live. The ranch offers endless fun and we are centrally located to the beach, mountains, snow and cities full of fun! We struggled with infertility but knew adoption was the right path for us. We look forward to going through this process with you and our priority is making sure that you are comfortable with things along the way.
We never realized how much joy a child can bring to you and your home until we adopted our son in 2019. It was such a rewarding, emotional and fantastic experience, we look forward to opening our hearts and home to another child through adoption. With our son we have an open adoption. However, we want to fully take in your thoughts and feelings and customize our adoption plan with you to where you are most comfortable. You are just as important in this adoption process as your child.
For how much we love the outdoors we also believe in the importance of slowing down life and enjoying time together relaxing watching family movies, binge watching a TV series or doing a family puzzle.
Mark went to College in San Diego where he received his degree in Engineering. He now runs and operates the farm on the family ranch where we live. He takes pride in his work and is always looking for ways to grow the company and better our lives. He isn’t only a great husband, but he is a fantastic Father. His number one priority is being the best role model and positive influence to our son. He loves to interact with him and their favorite activities to do together are golf and work with tools. Positivity is key to Mark and he is always encouraging people to be the best version of them self and get out of your comfort zone. He has an admirable sense of adventure and is always looking for new things to experience. He loves to eat sushi, golf, snowmobile and fly. He is very talented at craftsmanship and can build you just about anything! I don’t think I could have gotten any luckier having Mark as my companion for life.
Being a dad is the best part of every day. I grew up down the street from where we live and spent all of my free time following my dad around our ranch as a kid. It is so rewarding sharing this with our son and seeing his enjoyment of playing with tools at the shop or spotting deer and turkeys in our orchards. I feel so fortunate to be raised in our small town with such a close family and couldn’t be more proud and excited to pass it on to our kids.
Katelyn is an amazing stay at home mom, wife, coffee barista, and chef. Katelyn is always trying new recipes for dinner and has mastered my favorite family recipes. She is a huge support during my short but busy farming seasons always making lunches and spoiling us with amazing dinners. She is a wonderful mother with lots of love and guidance to give. Spending her days raising our first child is the best situation we could have hoped for. She always looks forward to new parts of his developing personality and is always bringing out the best in each one of us. She loves to stay busy with trips to the trampoline park, the zoo, and the beach. She is definitely the party planner in our group, Katelyn is always going above and beyond with decorations and food and drinks to create everlasting memories with our friends and family. I couldn’t have gotten any luckier to be married to Katelyn.
Being a Mom has been so rewarding and enjoyable for me. It is important to me to be able to spend quality time with my kids, be a positive influence in their lives and do fun things together. I love being a stay at home Mom and feel fortunate to be able to do so.
Growing up sports were a huge part of my life. I was active in basketball, volleyball, swimming and water skiing. Since then I have taken up golf, but I still have much room for improvement! I spend a lot of time in our summer garden and baking pies with all of our fresh fruit. I recently have gotten into decorating royal icing cookies and love getting creative with them. I look forward to the opportunity to share more about myself with you, and also learn more about you!

We adopted James in 2019 from Michigan. He is three years old and loves cheese pizza, playing outside in the water or digging in the dirt. He is very sweet and cautious, but is full of energy and spunk! Paw Patrol is his favorite TV show and has a cat named Skye. He looks forward to being a big brother and always being there for them.
We live in a 4 bedroom home on Mark’s family farm located an hour north of Sacramento, California. We live in a close-knit community that gives you a sense of security, since everyone knows one another.
We enjoy supporting local organizations and attending the local High School sporting events. Mark currently serves on the School Board helping ensure our school district is providing the best education for our students. We have a large back yard with plenty of room for activities. We also have a huge summer garden including: potatoes, corn, squash, tomatoes, peppers and pumpkins. We also have over 10 different fruit trees that Mark has planted. It provides a great learning experience for kids and we love having so much fresh produce throughout the year. Our favorite town event is our Christmas Light parade where local families decorate tractors, trains, vehicles and more in full Christmas lights. This year we plan to submit a vintage tow truck as Tow Mater from the movie Cars.
In our home, we value strong morals, hard work, dedication, fun and laughter. We want our child to feel like they possess all of the tools that they need to be successful and we believe this is a solid foundation to do so. Communication is also very important to us. We want our home to be an open channel of communication so that our children always feel like they can come to us no matter the situation. Go for your dreams and have fun doing it!
Hallie is our 13 year old Labrador. She loves playing with kids and joining us on family walks through the ranch. He favorite stuffed animal is a hedgehog. She loves to wonder back and forth from the house to the shop, but most of the day you can find her napping in the sun. We also have an outdoor cat, Skye who loves to be pet. Our favorite morning activity is gathering the eggs from our chickens and raising new baby chicks in the Spring.
One of our bucket list items is owning a cabin next to a creek that we can fish in during the summer and enjoy some snow in the winter. A place to build everlasting memories and a place to pass on to future generations.
After college, we both moved home because we knew that we wanted to be close to our families and raise our family near them. We love spending time with them and feel fortunate that both parents are within 15 minutes of us. Mark’s parents, brother, cousins and grandma are all in town with plenty of older cousins to play with. Katelyn’s parents live in the next town over with extended family nearby. Both of our families are extremely supportive and involved in our lives. We also consider our best friends our family. We have kept in close contact with our college friends. We travel together and make it a point to see each other often. We have enjoyed watching them grow their families and are excited about future play dates!
One family tradition we have recently started is hosting a 4th of July pizza party and fireworks show with our neighbors and relatives. Mark and his friends are in charge of the large show and Katelyn and friends do endless sparklers with all of the kiddos. It’s an event looked forward to by all and keeps getting better and better.
It means the world to us that you took the time to learn more about us. We admire your decision of choosing adoption and look forward to opening our hearts to you and your child if we are lucky enough to be chosen as the parents of your child. We are committed to giving your baby love, support and encouragement in all aspects of life. We hope that by looking through our profile, we have provided a glimpse of our life, family, traditions and values. We will always be there for them. From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate this opportunity as we are excited to continue to grow our family through adoption.
